Have any of ever edited a song to where the only thing playing was the backing vocals? (I never done that sort of thing so I wouldn't know how to do it or know how hard it is). I wonder if you could edit it down to where the only thing playing was John Deacon's backing vocals. He's said that his singing voice is horrible and I wonder how true that is. coming to think of it, I've never heard his voice in a interview or anything.

yes well I wonder what his quiet singing voice sounded like

WO WO WO! John Deacon DID sing, watch Live At Wembley for example, he isngs during Mary Lou i think, and during the Freddie MErc Tribute gig, he sings during Radio Ga Ga, backing vocals, he does on plenty of tracks!

i don't think he did do STL - unless you know something new....the vocals are fred, Bri & Rog
oyu have heard of multitrack harmonies haven't you? - you know - the self same stuff used all over Bo Rhap?

check out the ARATR cover - john deacon gets credited with zero vocalisations
only three of em i'm afraid
there was even rumours that his "mic" on stage is permanently turned off
KillarQueen- You can hear John singing at Earl's Court 1977. And I also have rare tape of John singing without any instruments so you can hear only his voice. My opinion is that he could sometimes do backing vocals- nothing would happen to him :)
I'm not being funny, and I know certain people on hear believe otherwise, and respect to them for forming their own opinions, but...
He was, has, and never will be credited on album covers as singing. Has never actually really been heard on tour singing (despite a microphone, which is more than likely turned off - if someone tells you something is there and you want to hear it, you will) and, let's be honest, when people say (by people I mean Bri and Rog) things like "oh it was just the three of us" or "me Fred and Rog did the backing vocals" etc, I think it gives a pretty definite idea as to which John Deacon's did sing and which John Deacon's didnt sing, and I'd is it was all of them.
John sang backing vocals on a Bohemian Rhapsody spoof single in the 80's, its been a few years since ive heard the track but I think you can make out his voice quite clearly on that.

What the hell????? My bullshit detectors are going apeshit over this bullshit!!!! There was no 80's version of Bo Rhap!!! What are you talking about??
John, you might want to take your bullshit detectors in for a retune! There was a version of Bohemian Rhapsody released in 1987 by spoof metal band Bad News. It was produced by Brian May and did indeed feature backing vocals by the one and only John Deacon. You may ask how I know this? I own the seven inch, that's how. You might want to check stuff out before you start talking bollocks in future

And can he sing well then?
On that tape he sings good, but when I heard Earl's Court maybe is better why he didn't sing more. But we would all like John sung more, I am sure, at least because of atmosphere.
You hear him talk on the Queen Greatest flicks DVD (the first one) on the commentary of Another one Bites the Dust. Is it just me, or does he have a lisp? And isn't that him singing on Let me live, right before Brian?

No, that's Roger.

Milano '84's first night.
You can hear John on Radio Ga Ga while his mice was way to load. It's like a little gnoom.
Well...if you listen to the Mama I'm gonna be your slave part of Liar on early shows like Rainbow 74 or Earl's Court 77, or if you watch them, then you can see that John is right behind Freddie, singing into Freddie's mic, which is of course not shut down. Wonder if one has ever realized that before me... ;-)
