A neighbor told me yesterday that Nostradamus predicted the demise of Cape
Cod to be this year. The reason being lies within the Canary Islands area.
Scientifcially this holds true if a massive slide of the mountain drop (like
Georges Bank, New England) ever were to take place. Scientists around the
world have speculated and more that this could happen here along the Eastern
Seaboard of the Americas. My area would have approx. 8 hours warning and
then, *WASH*.

Winter-like storm looms over New England
HYANNIS - Another powerful coastal storm is looming over New England, still
wincing from last winter's snow storms and this spring's rainstorms.
The northeaster, more common in winter, will bring 15 to 20 foot waves in
open seas by late tomorrow and sustained winds of 40 mph with gusts to 60
mph near the coast, according to the National Weather Service.
The storm, expected to hit the Massachusetts and Rhode Island coast hard,
also brings the possibility of damaging winds and power outages from 5 p.m.
tomorrow to 4 a.m. Wednesday.
Heavy rain - from one to two inches to three inches - is also predicted late
tomorrow into Wednesday. If the rain were snow, there's be anywhere from
eight to 24 inches of snow.
Any loss of power would happen during a strike by repairmen and lineworkers
for NStar, which is using management and contract crews to respond to
outages.
The strong winds and astronomical high tide also raise the potential for
coastal flooding around midnight and 1 a.m. along the coast, especially
Sandwich, Provincetown, Chatham's Outer Harbor. Due to the possible of a
one- to two-foot storm surge, there is a coastal flood watch in effect from
11 p.m. tomorrow to 4 a.m. Wednesday.
While waiting, today Cape Cod can enjoy yet another unseasonably cool and
cloudy day. The temperature is predicted to reach 57 degrees with light,
east winds. There's a chance of rain, mainly after midnight.
Stay tuned to weather forecasts for any changes.
