I got a free ticket to go see the Queen of England at Commonwealth Stadium here in Edmonton tomorrow!
I'm going to try and bring my camera, and MP3 player/recorder since the Corb Lund Band is playing! Yippee!
:)
Oh I wish I could! lol!
Seriously though, again I'm going to try and take my camera and MP3 player/recorder so I can have something to possibly share with you guys

Joepie.
Richard with the Queen. I'll bet it will be popular in the bootleg circuit.
Ah man, the weather was so bad (exTREMELY cold and windy!!!) that I left about an hour after it started, so no recordings or pictures of the Queen yet. Fucking weather!
And I WAS able to get my camera and MP3 recorder past security (they were only checking bags and knapsacks, that's why - I hid them inside my jacket, which itself was under a raincoat my dad lent me!).
It's not necessarily a missed opportunity; she'll be visiting Churchill Square downtown on Wednesday this week, so I'll do my best to get a photo of her at least, though I can't guarantee that I will for sure, cos even our bus transit service, ETS, is making detour plans for their routes even, which most likely means the square will be PACKED!
I'll be sure to get a photo of the square tomorrow if it's not raining as much (they said on the radio that the rain's expected to last 15-20 hours from now), so you guys can see what it looks like.
But today, bleh! If it weren't for the weather, I would've stayed.
Mind you, the venue she's appearing at today is obviously an open-air football stadium venue, in case I didn't mention it before. My seat was in the upper east area :P
Saw the Queen earlier today, both when she was leaving the Westin Hotel and when she appeared in Churchill Square.
Got photos of the square taken as promised, though I will have to wait until my step-mom takes my film roll to Costco to get them developed.
I don't think I got any close-up photos though, so don't expect anything too exciting!
Also, I listened to the audio I recorded of the opening speeches from the event at Commonwealth Stadium on Monday - they weren't very good in quality or sound, due to the sound travelling and echoing around the stadium, and the cold winds that were blowing rather powerfully. If you guys want what I recorded, tell me, even though they aren't great.
I can't almost tell what's being said.
