I read in today's paper that after years of legal battles over the rights to the Rocky film franchise, Sylvester Stallone FINALLY got the rights to star in and film..."Rocky 6".
And before you laugh, I am a huge fan of the yes cheesy, but underdog Rocky films.
The thing that I think gave him leverage, is Stallone just launched his own men's fitness magazine which is selling like gangbusters and is a HUGE financial success. I saw it in Barnes & Noble, but the article in today's paper pointed this fact out.
Gonna Fly Now...Eye Of The Tiger!

Without any doubt...My favorite is Rocky 3 and always has been. Best of the franchise. Stallone, the script, the music soundtrack, the villain (Mr. T/Clubber Lang), Stallone's acting, Rocky's friendship with Apollo Creed who trains Rocky to GET BACK the "eye of the tiger", the END of the film when Rocky & Apollo playfully spar in the ring, and Apollo fakes the bell sound and they thrust towards one another and the camera shot turns into a painting of them as you hear a roaring tiger and the song, "Eye Of The Tiger...all the COOLEST!
LOL, Rocky IV was like a 90 minute montage.
I would dread the news of a Rocky VI, because it's been too long since Rocky V and Stallone is too old now, except that Rocky V sucked and was a horrible way to end the series. So a Rocky VI might not actually be a bad idea.
