This question is directed strictly towards the musicians...How in the blue hell can you get a copy of the Fryer Treble Booster Commercially? What is the price range for one? Second...I'm seriously considering getting an RS Brian May Model...link Any feedback...do you think they're worth getting?
If you have the money ready there is a bueaty Red Special on ebay at the moment, currently at £1100 it has a Guild '93ish model neck and body with custom pick guard, knobs, bridge, trem, pick-ups, switches etc. Probably the closest thing to the original you will get for under £5000. It is located in Lyon France, wish I had the spare cash.
I consider de RS model more expensive than the one burns does, it is more alike in appearance and sound. Apart from that and your questionjust as a comment I would recomend the combo of the burns signature BM and de vox BHM amplifier, that seems to have THE BRIAN sound
The Fryer is just so expensive. There's some copies on eBay. Or emulators.
Me, I use the BM amp, which has the treble boost in it, as a preamp. Played out with it, and it rocked...!
Regarding the treble-booster:
The Vox Brian May has one built-in. You can also make one yourself. Have a look at this site: link
You can also search eBay for them, they show up from time to time from different manufacturers.
Regarding the Red Special:
There are a few different manufacturers making these… check out KZ and Sei as well, but expect to pay a lot! As stated above, you probably can get a second hand Guild for less…
