WHO HERE HAS SEEN THE FILM? BECAUSE I PERSONALLY THINK ITS RUBBISH BECAUSE UITS MISSED MOST OF THE IMPORTANT THINGS OUT AND MISSED HALF OF THE ENDING OUT AND IF THATS NOT ENOUGH I MADE ITS OWN ENDING ITSA RUBBISH BUT TELL ME WHAT U THINK? AND I AM A REAL TRUE FAN
Haven't got to see it yet hoping to in the next week or so. Love Hitchhikers discovered it in January but I'm feeling rather down about the movie. It really doesn't sound that good but I'm trying to reserve judgement.
Never read the book, but I plan to eventually :D Right now I am kinda readin' The Hound of the Baskervilles (Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, (Sherlock Holmes)).
I watched the movie Sunday. It was ok. People who like science-fiction will probebly love the movie. I don't really like science-fiction, but I still slightly enjoyed it :D Have the people walked out of the movie though :D
Well, people have to understand, you can only do so much within 2 hours.. and when you have 5 books, or 6 hours of the BBC radio series SOMETHING is going to be left out. I mean look at the VHS of it, that is 3 hours long and is missing a lot, I feel they did a great job with the restrictions that was placed on them, I do NOT want to see this movie made like Lord Of the Rings was and split into 4 different movies over 5 years, it just wouldn't do the books justice. so lets just be happy with what was given us and move on shall we?
You muppet.
The Radio series was written as they went along, and had no "proper" ending.
The book was different to the radio series, and had no proper ending either.
The records were then different to the radio series AMD the book, and had no proper ending.
The TV series was further different from the records, the radio series AND the book, and had no proper ending.
The film was always going to be different to all of the above, and the ending was the part that Douglas Adams himself said was the trickiest part.
yes it did. and at least on the series it told you the ultimate question unlike the film which didnt and the book did have a proper ending. and besides the film was based on the book and the tv series anyway
The rumour is there are going to be 5 films all together and following more along the lines of the books rather then TV or Radio series. As long as the Americans don’t get there hand on it and change everything and Americanise it.
Don’t have any hard evidence its just what I’ve heard
yeah it was what is the meaning of life because aurthur finds the answer but he doesnt relise it the narrarter explains it so ha they do "!!!!!!!!!!!!!
well as i dont own the bbc series i cannot tell but i was planning on buying sometime in the next week until then you will have to wait. Aurther playes a game with the alien dude and it is reveled then but just wait till i buy it so i can and will confirm it
Hang on. You are ADAMANT that the answer (question) is revealed, but you don't actually know it, and you refuse to accept the possibility that I (who have read the books, listened to the radio show, watched the TV series, listened to the records & watched the film) may have a better informed view?
How immature.
Now, your reference to a game suggests a scene (I think) common to all versions except the film where Arthur tries to teach primitive Earthman to speak in the (forlorn) hope of him out-evolving the Golgafrinchams, by trying to play scrabble with them. This ends with Arthur randomly pulling letters out of the bag and making the only (to the best of my knowledge) potential Ultimate Question ever revealed...
..which is...
"What do you get if you multiply six by eight"
And since this doesn't even return the answer 42, Ford, Arthur & the reader move on on the assumption that the the crash landing of the Golgafrinchams on primitive earth skewed the computer program to the extent that there is no no established "Ultimate Question".
This is from memory, but do feel free to come back and tell me how wrong I am. If you could wait until you've actually proved it, though, that would be appreciated.
ok Penetration_Guru your right im wrong yes i did say i was wrong but i do have an explanation for it its been an extremly long time since i have seen it. ok i watched that eposode at 11.20 and your right. but dont get cocky about it
