For those who may not know
Wishing Well is off Free's last record
Heartbreaker(1973).
PR wrote it about Free's guitarist, Paul Kossoff
who was basically commiting slow suicide with a copious amount of drugs. They all tried to intervene, but nobody could reach him.
The band fell apart. Paul and Simon went off and formed Bad Company with Mick Ralphs of Mott the Hoople(the only band Queen ever opened for)
Koss would die three years later at age 26 :(
Back to reviews...
My first concert of the tour.
Good performance & sound. Especially the drums
were killing!
I would say the audience was typical German, it
took very long until they really owned the
audience but at the end everybody was
hungry for more and joyning the band.
Highlights to me: Allright Now, Can't get enough
of your love, Fat bottomed Girls.
Lowest points to me: I want to break free, Feel
like making Love
The crowd loved Radio Ga Ga and Brians acoustic
set. And the encores were one big party.
A Kind of Magic worked pretty good for me!
Very emotional moments when the videos were
shown in Days of our Lifes and when Freddie
sang Bo Rhap!!!
Gary Moore has indeed covered Wishing Well, along with a million others. Seem to remember it was the B side to a single in the '80's.
Fingers crossed they keep this in the set all the way to Cardiff.
