What a pairing! George Lucas, one of my favorite directors obviously because of the Star Wars Trilogy & Prequels...will be a guest on my favorite TV show, "The O.C."
Smart marketing move...take note Queen (and NO I am NOT kidding).. Lucas obviously is doing this during sweeps TV time, to tap into and gain an entire NEW generation of fans who watch "The O.C. worldwide. He and "Revenge of the Syth" will get a ton of free publicity and exposure out of this to boost his film...and it certainly won't hurt "The O.C."'s ratings either. Read below. link
What a sell out.
The creator of the most geek appealing movie saga of all time is now a guest on a shit show about a whole bunch of spoiled rich white kids.

I agree...it IS a sellout...but THAT's WHY he's doing it. Lucas is very business/marketing savvy and he likes the sound of ca ching, money. That's the point. I don't necessarily agree with how it compromises Star Wars...but it keeps the franchise going and more money keeps on rolling in. I don't think you can callsify Lucas as an Auteur Director or Producer. He likes his money. Hey...look at all the merchandising alone from Star wars over the last 3 decades. The merchandising alone is worth gazillions.
What pisses me off about Lucas is that he's willing to destroy the essence and reputation of his own movies in order to make them more appealing to non-Star Wars fans.
He created Jar Jar Binks because he wanted a comic relief character that 5 year olds would find funny. Then 3 years later, he was considering giving the guys from N*SYNC a cameo on 'Attack Of The Clones' to bring more teenage girls to see the movie, but changed his mind when he received tons of angry e-mails from fans.
If Lucas wants to make a cameo on a TV show, at least he should do it on a decent one.
Welcome to the O.C., bitch!

Hey perfect...glad you used the show's classic "Welcome To The O.C. Bitch!". They should bring back Chris Carmack's dumb jock charcter for a cameo to say that to George Lucas!
For the record, for me...there is ONLY the ORIGINAL Star Wars trilogy which I saw all 3 in the late 70's early 80's in the theater, over, and over, and over....and on Cable over, and over, and over...This prequel s**t and redoing scenes from the Original trilogy and all the sellout crap...plucks my freackin' nerves. Oh the madness!!!!
I still like the prequels, even though it has it's share of weaknesses.
The problem with Lucas is that he's focusing so much into special effects that he's forgetting about the very main essence of filmaking which is a good plot outline, good dialogues, and good acting.
I still wonder what the hell was he smoking the day he casted Jake Lloyd to play Anakin on Episode I. That little turd is as good as an actor, as George W. Bush as a president.
We are so behind in the OC. We just saw the one where Seth had to draw Summer for his comic book and Cal had a heart attack. If ANYONE could tell me what happens next that would be AWESOME!
