on friday night..after a few of mr stella's finest brew, I was given a proposition.some of my friends are in a band, and their lead singer is uncomfortable in the role. Around when they said this, I said how much i'd enjoy being in a band, and so they put together 2+2=4. then the lead singer turned up at the pub, and was very kool with the idea.
maybe this was all drunken overtones on their part...but,if the offer is true. I wanna give it a shot. I have f.a experience(f.a being fuck all,not football association, just wanted to clarify that so you didnt think it was me who sung the national anthems at the millennium stadium). so, being a queen forum, i thought i'd throw the gaunlet over to you. what can i do to try and make myself seem alright to them? cos I do wanna take advantage of the opportunity. I just wondered if anyone had any professional tips to help me?
You need no professional tips. The odds are about 1 in 875,000,000,000,000,000 that you will ever be renowned outside a 1-mile radius, and so the point is not to sound like the musical geniuses of the century - you'll most likely be sorely disappointed if you try too hard. Just be natural, have fun, blow out some eardrums and make sure everyone else has fun. And if you DO turn out to be the musical genius of the century, it'll come to you natural and you'll be rewarded for it.
bigC go and get some vocal lessons to give you some more confidence. I'm sure your local telephone book will list people who give lessons. I'm not suggesting anything too formal, but you may just need some help in projection, breathing and phrasing. You may find it may make a huge difference in the quality of your voice.
But ultimately, ENJOY YOURSELF!!
