Since some of you have been asking me about this book, here's all of the info. The book has a foreword by Ronnie James Dio, and includes, Black Sabbath, Bad Company!!!! (Paul Rodgers' band), Led Zeppelin, Wasp, Aerosmith, Motley Crue, Motorhead, The Runaways, Kiss, Van Halen, etc, etc.
It's outrageously funny...but only in taking shots at the press, people who didn't "get" these artists, real witty, tongue in cheek sarcastic humor, but says GREAT things about all of the music artists.
This is the GREAT book that I said in the Topic about Rolling Stone dissing Queen, that this book stated that the press always were treating Queen like s**t, so the book says kiddingly, quote something to the effect, that
"Queen consoled themselves, their distress and "dried" their tears with their telephone book size royalty checks" from all of the millions of records they sold to millions of fans worldwide.
This is also..on the Queenzone news main page...where I typed it as such...below.. link
Queen are prominently featured in a wonderful book entitled, "The Encyclopedia Of Heavy Metal" By Daniel Bukszpan published By Barnes & Nobles Publishing, Inc. and available at Barnes & Nobles Book Stores throughout the United States
Author Bukszpan wrote this book as he says to be both "incredibly insightful and hysterically funny" both of which it is, as well as being an intensely researched, highly entertaining, and fond chronicle documenting the greatest artists in heavy metal.
Queen take their rightful place on pages 190-194. Their in depth, well researched, insightful entry is notable for its particularly exuberant, affectionate, glowing praise to the band's substantial, landmark contributions and influences to and in ALL genres of music, including metal, rock, pop, disco, glam, opera, gospel, funk, and more. Special attention is highlighted to the immaculate care, time, and consummate musicianship that Queen implemented when recording their music masterpieces, singling out ANATO, BoRhap, and the emphasis the band placed in implementing ornate music instrumentation and intricate production to achieve their extraordinary sound.
Page 190 has a gorgeous Full page color photo of Mick Rock's infamous "Nude" photo of the band.
Page 191 has a wonderful color photo of Freddie, Brian & John performing Crazy Little Thing Called Love on "Saturday Night Live"
Page 193 has an Incredible Full page color concert photo of Freddie and the band on the Hot Space Tour that captures the electricity of Queen in all of their majesty and glory.
Pages 191-192 feature color photos of the album covers of Queen I, Queen II, Sheer Heart Attack, ANATO, ADATR, Jazz, Flash Gordon, The Game and clothing patches for Innuendo and Made In Heaven.

Some photo eh! Wish I could afford to buy 2 books and rip that page out of one book and frame it up on my wall. The book is HUGE!!!! and so that photo is darn near poster size and glossy, beautiful. That same photo is on the cover of the Q/Mojo Queen Classic magazine..but the art directors of the magazine, DRAMATICALLY cropped and cut the photo so half of it and some of all 4 members is missing.
This book has probably the BEST version of that photo I've ever seen.
How about the poster size color concert photo of Freddie on the Hot Space Tour. Is that INCREDIBLE, or what! If that doesn't capture what Queen is about just by looking at it...I don't know what would. it's as electric and dazzling as any video live footage. What a photo.
Did you read the biography the author wrote? Isn't it Great? Especially the way he rags on the press for dissing Queen. Hysterical. And great informative stuff about the recording of ANATO and BoRahp and that whole bit about the harp. Love it all!!!!:)
I would pay (I won't say how much!) to get a copy of that photo as a poster. (Do you think that would be a possibility?) Cropping that photo???? What a TRAVESTY!! I too was contemplating buying the book just to tear out that photo to put on my wall!. To tell the truth, I only scanned the article. I plan to buy the book, mainly for the Queen entry, as soon as I scrape up a few bucks.

Thanks bunches Arlene!! It would be wonderful if
they could do that! I know just where I'm going to put it up at my office. Don't think I'll be getting much work done! ;o)
