These tracks can be downloaded to any PC and burned to any CD disc. You do not need the official disc to do so.
The reason I have bought the official disc (if it ever arrives) is so that I have a good looking artifact at the end.
But, if you want to save them onto a 10p blank CD - more power to your elbow.
BTW: If this pans out how I think it will, I guess that one would need to purchase a few of the "official" blanks!
I was thinking the same thing...
How much more money to we stand to spend: 99p a track, £5 a CD-R?!
I think I'll stick with getting the tracks first, then the CD-Rs second
I must conceed, that I am pretty pleased with the soundboard quality.
I use Windows Media Player 10. After downloading, I burned the tracks onto CD using the "burn" option. (Quite easy really considering my PC savvy is moderate at best).
The subsequent CD through a proper Stereo system sounds the donkey's bollocks.
I know through time that more complete bootlegs may appear, but I was never one for quantity. As far as I am concerned give me a handful of quality tracks (or one decent concert) from each tour and I am as happy as pigs... (Well you get the point).
Each track can be burned up to 3 times, so creating this disc will not effect my "Official" download CD when it arrives - but how - using Windows Media (or any other program) - do I eliminate the few seconds between each track?
John...
I'm not sure about Media Player, and I'm not sure sure if you have it even, but in iTunes there is the option to increase and/or decrease the silence between songs (ranges between zero and five seconds, obviously not accounting for possible silence that is 'part of' the track already).
£5 for a blank cd, and 99p for each song....
Say 15 songs to a cd (well if they are 220kbps wma files, you could fit a hundred, but let's just for argument's sake, say 15)
That's £20 for a home burnt cd with wma files on it...
How much does a professionally made live cd cost over there in a shop? £15?
Uhmm, this seems like seriously bad value if you ask me.
I'd love the tracks (they sound great on the 30 clips you can listen to), but buggered if I'm gonna pay that sort of money (plus exhorbitant postage to Australia for the disk), no matter that the money goes to a good charity.
God, they're greedy buggers this lot. I would bet a hundred quid that the price would still be the same if the profit wan't going to charity as well.
