There's a few versions of this around (live) that are okay - and i found one great one
where freddie introduces it
..."see people all around me,there's a few up there. Oiiii!! how you doing up therrrrre? you seem a bit quiet, ha! we'd like to do a (snooty vooty?) one - it's called Hangman"
can anyone identify which gig this is from?
also it's been said the best live version og Hangman is from Liverpool 73...i have Bristol, manchest, Birmingham, newcastle, oxford and Golders green - but i can't find Liverpool - any clues people?
Yes that's the one from Birmingham, no doubt about it. But I personaly don't think this is best version of it. (also quality wise)
My favorite is still this one: link
(Taken From Sheer Japan Attack, 1975)
have another one from the end of the japan tour - the last time they played it 76?-ish
this sounds okay too
but no hints on the liverpool73 version? anyone got it?
Indeed, the Liverpool version is pretty cool!
Quality is not as good as Japan and Birmingham, but the performance is great... and again a little different. (The as 'Shag...Out' called second part of the song (after the short silence) is not there, but there is some other (instrumental + add libs) part instead (oh, and without a silence before it by the way. The songs goes straight on).

They played this song on 01.05.1975 during the Japanese SHA-tour. This is a great show. They played a full version of Great King Rat, Hangman and See What A Fool I've Been as encore! This bootleg is called: Sheer Japan Attack. It's one of my favourites!
