15 Fans, 4 Police Officers injured after brawl with Kenny Rogers' Bodyguard
HAZELTON, DOWNTOWN -- At least 19 people -- including four Hazelton police officers -- have been injured in an incident involving a bodyguard hired to protect country star Kenny Rogers at a book signing this evening.
One fan, Morgan Hendrix, 14, is listed in critical but stable condition.
Hazelton Police report that a book signing this evening at Barrett's Books on South Main Street became violent when a female fan of Rogers' asked the singer to sign a part of her body. According to police, the fan became insistant and refused to leave the line when asked by one of Rogers' staff members. Another fan, reportedly a friend of the female in question, began an altercation with the staff member which escalated into a full blown brawl. The incident is still under investigation.
