Richard just posted guidelines about how newbyes should behave. I think more guidelines are needed to instruct older forum users about respect for others, about not making fun of other people, whether it's a newby, someone with different ideas, etc. Personally I don't give a damn if people address dirty posts at me, with ironic or bad rmarks. I have a life outside of this forum, and I have real friends in real life. But I think that it's this kind of attitudes, more than the boring posts you mention, which make these forums a hard place to be sometimes.
Just consider this. Being a long-time Queen fan, knowing how tall Brian is, having more DVDs, not being a stupid teen ager (as some define them), or not believing in the metaphysical, this all doesn't make you better than others.
I have the deepest respect for anyone, on this forum and in life. You all should too. Stop being so snobbish everyone!!! You are just like anybody else LOL LOL. Get real, and get alife if you don't have one.
Fairy Queen
You know - there is something that's always bugged me about people who 'tell it how it is'. It is the ASTOUNDING asumption that they know 'how it is' in the first place.
Honestly, do not let people here bother you (myself included). I don't come here for serious discussion, or at least, don't let myself be surprised if I find stupid things said here. It's only the internet, for crying out loud.
Besides, with Freddie Mercury's ghost bearing down on you... you haven't much time now.
<Beat of AOBTD kicks in>
Here he is! OH NO
"I'm Freddie Mercury's spooky ghost, I will strangle you in the night".
I enjoy reading these forums and find some of them extremely funny, but some people get pretty mean at times. I don't like mean. Otherwise I find the people who post to these forums to be very clever and humorous.
I don't understand how "it's the internet" has any relevance.
It's people. In any group of people there will be nice people, bitter people, sarcastic people, stupid people, etc etc. Why shouldn't this forum be exactly like real life (such as it is).
There is bad shit happening all over the world, and there is (relatively) bad shit on the forum. One is a microcosm of the other.
Fucking deal with it, cocksuckers...
I think some people who are so rude in forums etc. would not be so in real life. It's easier when you're not person to person. one should respect the others no matter how you communicate. The excuse that "well I was only joking" makes little sense to me. One can joke and be ironic without being rude. In fact, a rude joke is usually not funny at all.
hmmm...rude jokes...it doesnt even sound right...a joke shouldnt be rude. it should be funny...nothing more. and it should be directed at a person you know wont take the joke seriously...and to help those slow ones *points to self* you should always put j/k at the end so they know u are joking...so it doesnt turn into something bad

P_G is right! Forum is not 'heaven for everyone' as well as real life.
