How come people crap on the Beatles Anthology so much? In particular the two songs that they revamped? I mean okay, I don't really think it was as great as Made In Heaven was - but they're still better than some of the bad press they got.
i love the anthology discs - and if queen's effort is half as good i will be pleased - all those outtakes are interesting to listen to
and Real Love / FAAB are very fine tunes - it's only unwarranted heaped criticism due to John not being invloved in the finished product
- but let's face facts - their (arguably) finest album - abbey road - had hardly any john in it - he was off his face on heroin and Paul/George Martin were left assembling miles of tape loops in tot eh excellent medleys
I'm a Beatles fan and I wasn't too impressed with the 'Anthology' set. After all it was made out of demos and other rare tracks which never made it into the original record releases.
'Free As A Bird', and 'Real Love' are however excellent songs full of pure Beatles magic.
I think the highlight of the release of 'Anthology' was the documentary, which was superbly done. It's a must see not only for Beatles fans but for true fans of great rock music.
Queen should have done a documentary as good (not necessarily as long) as the one from The Beatles Anthology. The problem is that for the most part DoRo always puts their touch of cheesiness on Queen related films and videos. I'm not saying that everything they do is crap, but you guys know what I'm trying to get at.
