Since I'm at uni and poor! then I can't really afford tickets as well as going down to England to see them, that plus my exams are about that time. Whilst Newcastle is within driving distance, it's still going to be a bit awkward going down, despite my love of Queen! Since I'm only 19 I've never seen them, though my dad saw them at the Edinburgh PLayhouse in '79, and They once played Stirling Uni (my uni) in 1974 which ended in a riot!
Anyway, when does anyone think that Scottish date(s) will be announced and should I hold out for them? I really want to see them and not miss out, but going to see them at the moment isn't really an option!
Your time is gonna come! The only reason why there are no gigs in Scotland is because Paul Rodgers has committments in the States in May/June and he has to honour them. This is on Brian May's website I think. There's a proposed Canada/US Tour in the Autumn so maybe at the end of this year! Be patient it will be worth the wait!
Yeah, I read his site (check it daily for tour updates!) though it just seems odd that they have got so many gigs abroad, and so much time between them all ,that they can't add 1 gig in scotland and 1 in ireland at the moment. Queen are a British band so you'd expect them to have Britain as a priority than abroad. Ohh well, can sit, wait and hope!
Scottish & Irish gigs are not cast in stone but please have a positive attitude! It's annoying I know but there are no dates - I'm not a fortune teller - but maybe they'll play Glasgow SECC or Dublin RDS Simmons Court? It's long overdue IMHO. Try writing to Brian for more definite plans on his website.
Thought Brian was very clear. He explained why Scotland and Ireland had been missed at this time, but that they would put that right at the end of the tour. I saw nothing vague in his statement, they WILL play Scotland and Ireland.
