All queen fans please do not moan on about the prices of the tickets please let me put this into perspective for you.
Queen are our favorite band and we having seen the like of them for 13 years(freddie mercury tribute concert) and almost 19years since 86 so now they decide to get back to where they belong and we're all "can't wait for tour" etc and soon as ticket prices are mentioned it's "rip off" or scandulous prices" just remember this if you went to see the likes of madonna you would have to pay in the region of seventy pounds as with queen 49.50 isn't that bad anyway and remember this could well be the last ever time the boys go out on tour so the price of the tickets would be irrelvant.
Anyway i've said my peace go and enjoy what will be a very interesting tour.
People just can't see where the money is going. The Wembley concert alone will take about £450,000 if all seats are sold. Then there's the merchandise to bring in more money.
You have a point Brenda but we still don't want to be taken for suckers.
I put the explenation of the high prices in the other topic. Here it is again:
Ticketprices in all countries have just exploded the last couple of years. The official reason: artists and companies get less income because we burn so many cd's. (Which is a stupid and UNTRUE argument!)
Also, bear in mind that this particular tour is particularly expensive! Why? Because it is not a real, existing, unit. When there is a band there is one price for one unit. Now it's three! There are three people on this tour -that would already be expensive to put on stage on their own- who all three have their own company, their own management, their own everything. Hence the price needs to be as high as that, say, 3 managers can eat instead of one.
So there you have it!
But seperately, not together. (Two jobs)
There is a business called 'Brian' and there is a business called 'Roger'. There is no business called 'Brian AND Roger'.
Also one of the biggest reasons the ticket prices are higher is that they can not use it to sell a new album as they did in the past, and therefore generate revenue by other means.
The majority of the people going to the concert will already have the CDs, DVDs etc.
It has been stated that the only tour to make money was the last.

Rolling Stones at Twickenham = £55
Queen at Brixton = £55
Anyone else at Brixton = £30 tops
So, I'll continue to criticise the pricing structure.
Whatever the delectable Brenda feels she should enfore.....
They will sell the tickets for as much as they think they can get for them.....
Tickets to Birminghame & Wembly £110 including P+P
Tickets to Brixton £119 including P+P and this is meant to be for the fans ???????
Brenda I feel you are missing the point here:
Madonna is a highly successful female artist and has been for the last 20 odd years. She has in the last few years chosen to do some small capacity gigs thus because of this ticket prices were high at £70.00 Also i need to point out with Madonna you paying to see the original artist not 50% of a once great band.
I thing the main reason for the excessive prices are that the promoters know their market. 30-55 year old who have more disposable income compared to say teenagers who would pay a lower price to see Westlife or Mcfly.
And lets face it Byran, Roger (and Paul probably) don't exactly need the money do they ?

Telling Queenzoners not to moan about something is like telling George Bush not to say "nuke-ya-ler". Doesn't do any fuckin' good.
Look, in many cases, moaning is the only thing these people do well! And according to the bible, 'twould be a sin to ignore one's true talents.
This is my first posting to this site, so be kind to me, I have never felt the need to respond to anything before, so here goes.
I have two complaints/moans, price and locations. I live in Rogers home county of Cornwall, our nearest gig is Cardiff (yes the West Country miss out yet again), thats 200 mile approx away, so for my wife and I to go, we are looking at a total cost of about £200 (if you include petrol, food, hotel costs etc) for a couple of hours, thats with out buying anything at the gig.
The true fans who like myself have been there from the start, who have brought all the vinyl, then the cd's, and now the DVD's, seen them live both as a group, and solo, have already spent hundreds of pounds over the years, have done thier bit to help make Queen who they are today.
They dont need the money (apart from maybe Mr Rogers), with WWRY raking it in for them around the world, plus CD and DVD sales still doing very well, so as this will prob be the last ever tour, why not give something back to the real fans, not just one show in London in a lotto?
One comment was that prices are aimed at the 30-55 year olds, who have more free income!!!!!
in this age range a lot of us have kids at uni, a mortgage etc, try living in Cornwall which has the worst wages in Europe (fact), the highest utility bills in the UK, a mortgage and 2 kids at uni, and see how much free income you have? the answer my friend is bugger all.
I would love to see the band for a final time (well half of it anyway) but I can not justify spending that amount of money for 2-3 hours entertainment. From what I can make out, the only winner in this tour is Mr Rogers, who will be making some cash off of the backs of what was the best band in the world, Queen, long may the music live.
pastieman:
i can see where your fustration comes from. but would you expect them to go out and do it without making money? admitedly, they could lower the price, but i think i'll reserve my full judgement until I've seen it. i'm expecting the usual fantastic light and sound show, and maybe that will be where the money goes.
Does anyone know if there's a royalty law on them playing queen and free/bad company songs? by that i mean is Queen productions and whoever handles the rights to Rodger's material entitled to renumeration due to their songs being played live? if so, that kinda puts a spin on it, as effectively John and Mary Austin would be benefitting from this concert for doing nothing. Just a thought!!!!
