Apparently on 16th April (Sazka Arena, Prague). Ticket prices 35-70 euros. |

Mr. Scully wrote: Apparently on 16th April (Sazka Arena, Prague). Ticket prices 35-70 euros.Do you know capacity of this arena? |
Mr. Scully 13.01.2005 08:33 |
The Sazka Arena was built last year, it's the best ice-hockey arena in Europe, really a wonderful bulding. Not sure about the acoustics though. Capacity = approx. 17000 people. R.E.M. have sold it very easily so I'm sure it will be sold out for Queen quickly. |
Lisser 13.01.2005 09:16 |
Aren't those ticket prices high or is that a decent price for Queen tickets? |
Mr. Scully 13.01.2005 09:34 |
For Czech Republic it's a normal price for an exclusive concert (the Paul McCartney/R.E.M. gigs have/had the same price here). On the other hand, for example Deep Purple were much cheaper. |
Lisser 13.01.2005 10:00 |
I wonder who determines the price of a ticket...is it Queen Productions? Is it the assumed demand for the tickets? Is it a combo of the two or are there other factors involved? |
Mr. Scully 13.01.2005 10:06 |
It must be a compromise - if all tickets here in CZ cost 70 euros, the arena would be half empty because some people simply couldn't afford it. On the other hand, if all tickets were for 30 euros, Queen wouldn't bother coming because it would mean only a small income for them. |
Lickerman 13.01.2005 11:37 |
TICKETS for this concert you can buy on link --------------------------------- news in czech: link |
Lickerman 13.01.2005 11:42 |
This is optimall price for czech peoples. for example, Metallica in Prague cost about 900-1500Czech crowns(about 30-50 EURO) |
Libor2 13.01.2005 18:22 |
I paid for Rush concert in Prague 800 Kc (approx. 25 euro) last autumn. So 30 euro is standard price by my mean here. 70 euro is a little higher but I don't mind anyway. I'll be there. |

Any advice how to order on this homepage? - It's all in Czech ... I suppose I have to register but that's a real challenge! |
Mr. Scully 14.01.2005 04:45 |
The tickets are not for sale yet... the concert hasn't been announced officially yet. We'll see next week. The funniest thing is that the biggest Czech newspaper announced the concert today... and they quote link as the source! LOL :-) |

To me it looks like the english version of the site is absolutely useless and it's possible to order tickets only in CR. Quite stupid. Big Riff - MF Dnes :-) |

Cool, the biggest Slovakian newspaper (SME) mentions queenconcerts.com too :-) Don't worry, IF the concert is confirmed and IF the tickets are on sale, I'll post a notice here. |

Sarah, do you want to come to our little republic or what? :-) |
ssidd 24.01.2005 04:21 |
Are there any news on the tickets? I'm from Hungary and I'm keen on getting to Prague to see the guys. Can anybody confirm if it is/will be possible to book online? (Of course I already have the tickets for the Budapest show ;) |
Libor2 24.01.2005 04:42 |
No news about tickets yet. There isn't any mention about Queen+Rotgers concert on Sazka arena site. It's funny consider Budapest was (unofficially) announced later than Prague and tickets for Budapest gig are on sale now. |
ssidd 24.01.2005 05:00 |
Yes, it's really funny. Not usual here. The show was confirmed on friday, and some offices already started selling tickets on saturday. I visited a ticket office this morning that was closed for the weekend, and they told me there are no tickets for the show yet. But after they booted their computers, they saw there are... ;) If anybody's interested, Budapest tickets cost 32-57 Euros (7900-13900 HUF). |
Mr. Scully 24.01.2005 09:09 |
With a little bit of luck the Prahue tickets will be also available on link - and they ship abroad I think. We'll see on Thursday. |
DragonOnMyBack 24.01.2005 09:18 |
Just noticed that link tour page has been updated with links for buying tickets to more of the European concerts. Including Prague. The link the have is : link (The UK ones are all marked as SOLD OUT) |
Mr. Scully 24.01.2005 10:46 |
The funniest thing is that somebody emailed the Interkoncerts agency about tickets (they're responsible for this concert) and they replied "the venue and even the concert itself haven't been confirmed yet". |
Mr. Scully 07.02.2005 02:41 |
OK, the sale of Prague tickets begins tomorrow at 5:00 at Sazka terminals (= all Czech post offices only + the TicketPro center in Prague). Online sale should begin on Wednesday or Thursday (probably at sazkaticket.cz and ticketpro.cz). |
Libor2 07.02.2005 10:13 |
Yes, Martin is right. Internet booking will be available on 9th February from 8am - max 5 tickets per one book. Maybe it's worth mention, that it is possible to book it over internet, but (as I understand it) it is necessary to draw it personally on any Sazka online terminal during 24 hours period after booking. Then it'll be cancelled, if tickets are not bought. I don't know, how to buy it from abroad (without visiting Czech) - this'd be probably the most interesting thing for all people here. |
Rob Taylor Maniac 08.02.2005 01:47 |
Happiness is all around... I just bought five tickets for this concert...see you there! |
ssidd 08.02.2005 03:14 |
Hell, I want to get those tickets... I hope it'll be possible to get them from abroad ASAP! |
DragonOnMyBack 08.02.2005 03:20 |
Rob Taylor Maniac, I see you have said you just bought 5 tickets for Praguw, are you in the Czech Republic or abroad. If you are abroad what method did yopu use to buy them. |
Mr. Scully 08.02.2005 04:29 |
Rob Taylor Maniac is from Czech republic (it's in his profile btw.). Actually orders from abroad are possible although a bit complicated and you have to pay by bank transfer: link |
Libor2 08.02.2005 05:37 |
This is the page with Terms and conditions to buy tickets from abroad: link PS. I had got my tickets too at 8am. This day seems to be fine :-)) |
DragonOnMyBack 08.02.2005 06:17 |
I sent an email to the saska address this morning with address, bank details, number of tickets etc as mentioned on their webpage. Then left for work. Hoping that I will have a response when I get home. Fingers Crossed........ |
Slovak_Royal 08.02.2005 06:34 |
Hello Everyone, Been lurking here for a long time. Great site and lots of good posts. Special thanks to Mr. Sully for his updates on the Prague concert over the last few weeks! I got my tickets today (standing by the stage) and now can't wait!!! I had to get friends in the Czech Republic to pick them up for me though! Not sure how fans back in the UK are going to be able to get them as the SAZKA system of booking seems to favour the locals. |
Rob Taylor Maniac 08.02.2005 06:37 |
This day is GREAT. :) Yes I am from CR, so unfortunately I cannot help you with the orders from abroad... |
DragonOnMyBack 08.02.2005 15:32 |
Just a follow up on my last post. For booking from abroad it looks like sending an email to the saska arena as per details on their web page works quite well if you want to get tickets for this concert from outside Czech Rep. Had a response saying that my tickets in the front standing section have been reserved for me and that they will be sent to me via registered post as soon as I make the bank transfer (as long as it is within the next 7 days). The mail gives me all the price/ticket/bank info I need to do the transfer and a reservation number to reference when making the payment. Assuming the transfer goes okay when I do it tomorrow I will see you all there in April Horrrah :-) |
DragonOnMyBack 08.02.2005 15:34 |
BTW: Thanks to Mr Scully and everyone else for the useful info in this thread and keeping us informed of developments. |
Mr. Scully 09.02.2005 02:27 |
The front-rows standing tickets were sold out very quickly. Tickets in other categories should be still available. |
Mr. Scully 09.02.2005 04:25 |
Last 1500 tickets available for Prague. 13000 were sold in the first 24 hours. Exact online status of remaining tickets for sale can be seen here :-) link |
Libor2 09.02.2005 06:29 |
Less than 1200 tickets left just now. It seems they'll be sold today evening. |
Mcm 09.02.2005 13:25 |
Says here: link that they cut short the Magic tour due to Freddie's illness. That's news to me. Did Knebworth not happen or did i imagine it all? |
Mr. Scully 09.02.2005 13:44 |
Oh, ignore the text - they know nothing about Queen. Of course the last tour wasn't terminated or anything. |

Mr. Scully wrote: Last 1500 tickets available for Prague. 13000 were sold in the first 24 hours. Exact online status of remaining tickets for sale can be seen here :-) linkWow, less that 150 tickets left now. Obviously lots of fans there. |
Libor2 10.02.2005 10:58 |
Last few tickets for Czech concert (less than 150). It is not definitive number (tickets from people, who'd booked them and haven't bought them during 24 hours period, go back for sale), but I wouldn't expect too much. It seems that all 18000 tickets will be sold out during 3 days. |
Mr. Scully 10.02.2005 11:15 |
It's possible that TicketPro still has some tickets but I doubt that. The Sazka tickets (= 80-90% of all the tickets) will sell out today evening. Queen are very popular here. |
Mr. Scully 11.02.2005 03:42 |
All tickets sold out after 48 hours. Not as quick as Rotterdam but still not bad :-) |
DragonOnMyBack 23.02.2005 04:50 |
What a great start to the day :-) I just received my tickets to the Prague concert in the post this morning. Hooorrayyyy!!!! The email / bank transfer stuff obviously worked quite well in the end, although I was a bit worried that I had not heard anything since sending the money the day after the tickets went on sale. So I will be seeing the concert when I visit Prague and won't have to watch everyone else go in while I wander the streets. I can relax now and enjoy the build up to the trip. Very much looking forward to it, as it will be my first taste of the the Tour (unless by some miracle I get an email saying I have won the Brixton lottery), before attending the 3 UK Concerts I also have tickets for. Can't wait until April and May. Bring it On........ |
Mr. Scully 23.02.2005 07:19 |
I must say I'm a bit surprised it worked well :-) Anyway, see you in front of the Sazka Arena (gate North) several hours before the gig... :-) |
DragonOnMyBack 23.02.2005 08:06 |
Thanks MR Scully, I was getting a little worried but I can now say I WILL BE THERE. It makes my trip to Prague that little bit more special :-) BTW: If you need a ticket scan for you concerts web page I can send one to you. Its different to the receipt style one that I guess you got from the machines in Czech Rep. |
Mr. Scully 23.02.2005 08:56 |
No, thanks, I myself got the "nice" ticket too, I was just too lazy to scan it :-) |
DragonOnMyBack 23.02.2005 10:12 |
Cool, I did wonder how the receipt thing worked as tickets. I have not come across that sort of thing before. I was wondering if I was going to get a similar receipt or proper tickets before they arrived today. |
Mr. Scully 23.02.2005 11:15 |
These are the tickets that are printed by the online terminals (which in reality is a network of thousands of terminals), such tickets are extremely ugly but they work fine :-) |
Libor2 23.02.2005 15:04 |
I have got these ugly ones (comparing to some tickets from concerts I was here - Brian May, Jethro Tull, Uriah Heep or Pink Floyd were nice ones), but if they get me in, I really don't mind. :-) |
Mr. Scully 04.03.2005 10:36 |
