hey roger hes gotta stop eatin his ex girlfriends flakes! lol! |
Brian_Mays_Wig 05.01.2005 20:58 |
He really does need to shape up. Each time I see a new pic it scares me. I personally think he'll burn himself out touring. When I met him during the Electric Fire tour he looked fantastic. My ex girlfriend came with me..... she fancied the arse off him! |
jericho05 05.01.2005 21:38 |
I was concerned when I saw the Hall Of Fame thing. He has that puffy boozy look. I hope he can get it together. It's been awhile since he's done a real tour... but it should inspire him. |

I posted a topic similar to this a while back (Roger: can he still rock?....or something along those lines!) The feeling i recieved from it was that Roger is of course fit to take on this challenge. It's Roger that seems to be the one who is the most giddy about going out thwere live again...Brian seems more then content with the WWRY Shows now. In the thread mentioned above, i voiced my concern over Roger and if folks thought he could handle it. I was concerned about his health, mainly from various bits i've seen recently from awards shows and such where they have preformed. I guess if he really was'nt up for it, he would'nt have agreed to go ahead and tour. I am certain that Roger will not be drumming the whole time. There is no way in Hell he could do that now. I'm sure he will do a few songs behind his kit, and then do his delightful percussive enhancements ( gotta love that shaker box and tambourine..) as well as hopefully sing a few songs too! I think back to the Vegas Aftershow gig and i see it as a sneak peek at what's to come. Roger was INCREDIBLE...once he was onstage and behind his kit he ROCKED like i have'nt seen him rock in a LONG TIME. When i saw that, i knew then that something must be on the horizon. He was awesome to behold. Offstage was another story. yes, Roger now has this grandfatherly persona about him now, but you know....Roger does'nt age really. He ages like fine wine....Mmmmm... |
Mr. Scully 06.01.2005 02:49 |
I don't know... Brian is maybe the one who makes more mistakes in his playing but he can "mask" it easily with his image and the huge sound. If Roger's not fit to play, his poorly tuned drums won't help him (in the past years the drums sounded somehow "high", not as powerfully as they used to). |

I'm not too sure. I think he is fit enough to tour but i must admit in some of the latest photos i've seen of him he looks pretty worn out as well as possibly not too well. He may need to take a break now anf then though i surpose. I know Brian should be okay. He's looks never change but as i say i'm not too sure about Roger. He is getting quite old now. He is aging alot. |
john bodega 06.01.2005 21:51 |
Brian does stuff up occasionally yes. I think though it's also due to the fact that he tries to make his solos a bit different on stage than on the studio tracks. A bit of a gamble, usually it works. |

My Best Friend 09.01.2005 20:06 |
All he has to do is take a couple of pep pills to do the show. I'm sure a 30 day tour with this ritual won't harm his 55 year old body (1949 right?). |

Bless his little snare drumming soul.. Just saw him recently on the Wetten Das video interview (online) and God, what HAPPENED?? I'm concerned for him. he looked to be in great shape this past Summer in Vegas, but now...woo boy. I hope everything is alright with him.... |
newcastle 86! 16483 11.01.2005 18:18 |

That's good...Lord knows he NEEDS it! No offense to Roger, but he needs to get back into shape. The Wetten Das footage spooked me! |
newcastle 86! 16483 11.01.2005 18:38 |

Deacons 1st Choice 11.01.2005 18:54 |
Yeah i know! He did'nt look anything like that this past Sept at the WWRY Premeire in Vegas. He played a blistering set that made my jaw hang agape for the whole show...he was incredible!! I know he has the stuff to rock, but he needs to brush up on his appearence a little i think. Lose the goatee Roger! PLEASE! |
chiflaco 11.01.2005 21:00 |

He is aging alot.Roger is younger than Brian and John is even younger. Nevertheless, Roger looks almost like my 70 yrs old grandpa (though my grandpa is not as fat as him). And last time I saw John, back in 97, he already looked horrid, 100 yrs old or smth. I don't wanna think about how he might look like now... I don't know why John looks like that, but in Roger's case, it's certainly the scotch and the vodka working in his body. I think he also used drugs. Brian didn't and you can see it in his body. He looks younger - though he's the oldest guy in Queen! Besides that, the Stones are in their 60s and they ROCK! It's true Mick has lost some of his vocal skills, but he's not crap. The drummer is great and all of them do a good job. And God knows they were wilder than Queen ever was (talking of drugs)! So if the Stones can do it, I see no reason why our guys couldn't. If the tour doesn't work out, they'll have no excuse. Btw, listening lately to some Brian and Roger live solo recordings, I wonder if they couldn't have done the vocals by themselves on this tour too. I mean, Brian's voice is not that bad, if he wants to he can sing in both a feminine and a masculine way and Rog's voice is very strong, it really fits to a live venue (remember Radio Ga Ga at 46664?). What do we need the blasted Paul Rodgers for? I hope Brian and Roger will have the sense to sing at least on some songs in the forthcoming tour... |
kohuept 12.01.2005 12:56 |
Judging from the last few pics I've seen of Roger, it looks like he's trying for the disheveled rocker look he used to have. It worked it the past, but now it just makes him look rough (and not necessarily in the good way). |

march. do u have anything constructive too say? |
flash00 14.01.2005 20:56 |
yea i thought that about roger, he looked better with shorter hair and clean shaven!!!! but boy!! does he look rough(to many nights on the sofa). brian looks real fit and healthy, cool dude last time i saw john was in the paper with his lap-dancer friend and he looked fine lol didnt look that old, oh yea and he had his usual cheaky grin... |

Because there isn't a turning back now, the Queen Tour started roling some weeks before, and they have to do anything to make it work, bacause there's a heavy weight on their shoulders of the succes' they've had before. And 'anything' also means running and fitnessing everyday ;) |
Negative Creep 15.01.2005 07:18 |
The Hall of Fame performance and the footage at Rockfield showed that Roger isn't up to playing like he used to. He just doesn't seem to have the strength.... he would have to practise several hours a day for a fair few months to get to a decent level and that just aint gonna happen is it? He'll probably think he can just blag it. Theyre both musically out of shape, which is unsurprising as they dont regularly tour. |

Deacons 1st Choice 15.01.2005 22:46 |
I don't think we need to worry too much about Roger not being physically ready to do the Tour.. I seriously doubt that he will drum the whole show on any given night...no way...he can't take it at his age now. Surely their will be a 2nd drummer who will handle the main part of the shows chores and then during choice moments Roger will step behind the kit and go MENTAL! I have no doubts that he can still pound out the pleasure..none at ALL. I do doubt he will drum the entire time though. |
newcastle 86! 16483 15.01.2005 22:50 |
i hope he does i dont want a stand in! we got a stand in bass man and oh yeah! a stand in front man! im not paying to see a fukin stand in drumer lol! |
newcastle 86! 16483 15.01.2005 22:57 |
well done march! such a decent positive comment to make "fuck off" mmmmmm your grammer is wonderful |
Deacons 1st Choice 15.01.2005 22:58 |
Sorry Newcastle ...but it's more then likely the truth. There is NO WAY Roger is going to drum EVERY show..the full 2 hours each night. I really cant see that happening. It will be similar to how it was during his solo tours...he would only drum in choice slots on certain songs. I strongly feel that we will be getting more then Roger Brian and Paul...we will be getting another guitarist, another drummer, female backup singers (oh GOD NO!!)and Spikey. Oh yeah, and the substitute Bass player. It will be a interesting sight none the less! |
