What songs would they have performed, I dont think either of these guys could pull off half the songs queen would play live. George Michael is too soft and Elton John doesnt have the range.
What songs would suit them?
They'd probably just stay away from songs like Hammer To Fall, Tie Your Mother Down, I Want It All, etc., but those songs were always an intergral part of the setlist. That's probably why Brian and Roger were looking for a singer who could handle both the heavier rock songs and the slower ballads.
George doesn't have the roughness you need in the rock material; he's great with something like Days Of Our Lives, but for Hammer To Fall I prefer Brian himself
Dan "The Host" Corson wrote: I seem to be one of the only people that thinks George could handle the 'rock' songs QUITE well. People underestimate him WAY too often.
I'd love to see him try. I think he's a great singer, and just because rock songs aren't a usual part of his material doesn't mean he can't sing them! But I'm looking forward to, like Sebastian said, Brian and Roger taking some songs on the upcoming tour.
