All i know about that huge song is that, it was written by Brian and that he considers it his tribute to Fred.Any stuff to share about the history of it?
but about your question I believe Brian said that Freddie helped him on it. Brian showed him the song when Freddie was bedridden and he said that they both knew it was about Freddie but neither of them said so (they never talked about the true meaning of their songs w/ each other). Brian said that it was kind of his way of letting Freddie know how he felt about him, w/ out ACTUALLY doing it.
That might be bull but if my memory serves me right that's how it went!
Freddie only came out his bed a few hours a day, and these hours did he spend making music.
I think the song was about Bri and Rogers plans to coöperate with Paul Rogers after Freddie's death ;-)
once i've heard brian say that he wrote the song thinking as Freddie.
Then, he'd shown the song to Freddie, and Brian asked to him "will you sing it??" and Freddie said "i will sing whatever you want darling"
That was the story

Hmmm it sort of contradicts itself. Like he was going to say: The show must go on. NO!
But he's so worked with the fact the show MUST NOT go on, he misses out the "on" and just puts "no" instead!!
With all the critasism about Queen going back out on tour with Paul Rogers, I think that the answer to all of the bitchy comments is in the heading of this forum "The Show Must Go On" and i think that Freddie wouldn't of wanted it any other way.
