This sucks! This Rodgers collaboration will only prove how great and inreplacable Freddie really was. |
bleeding heart show 17.12.2004 12:20 |
So is this guy supposed to be very famous !!! I've checked out "Alright now" just recently and i think it's really shit... |
Mr Coolest Cat 17.12.2004 12:35 |
That picture looks like Paul Rogers as he's always looked on stage. |
brENsKi 17.12.2004 12:59 |
thinking something is "really shit" won't change anything fact is he's a big star and now he's joined a huge band you don't have to buy the records, you don't have to go to the gigs - no fekker is forcing you - it's your choice. but what the fek are you hoping to achieve? but stop being so fekkin poisonous - you won't change the views of those who do buy into it |
AllDeadAllDead 17.12.2004 13:52 |
this guy looks like the cheesiest douche bag. im in america, and im a big well-rounded pop/rock fan, and i can tell you paul rogers legacy is nothing much. his involvement with "queen" will not do good things to the already shakey american image. |
brENsKi 17.12.2004 14:45 |
shakey image of queen? is this the shakey image that's selling WWRY all over the place get to fekkery!!!! and queen don't care that you don't like Paul Rodgers, what's important to them is the band chemistry - and clearly that must be fine |
AllDeadAllDead 17.12.2004 15:21 |
the WWRY musical is in LAS VEGAS, and only in LAS VEGAS. im not aware of a normal legitamate broadway musical that opens and will only ever play in Vegas. yes, queen as a shakey image in america, because roughly 51 percent of us are homophobic country boys. take it or leave it. i amd an american and i love queen. i am a minority. |
brENsKi 17.12.2004 18:02 |
when i said "all over the place" iwas referring to the world bucko!! |
AllDeadAllDead 17.12.2004 18:42 |
yeah? well when i said "shakey american image" i was talking about america, bucko! |

don't get me wrong, I respect Paul and I love his voice, but this pic looked....well... familiar! |
Bob The Shrek 17.12.2004 21:02 |
It looked familiar to me too - just like a hundred other singers I have seen on stage who have raised one arm in the air. |

Brian and Roger certainly don't hink his music is "shit" and they're better placed to judge than you - after all they are in the biz and are going to be working with him you can say you don't like his music - but to dismiss a rock classic as "shit" is close to poison |

Maybe he had just finished his gig and was saluting the crowd - aren't other artists allowed to do it? Was the raised fist exclusively Freddie', just like the half mike stand? Some of you people really need to buy yourselves a slice of reality. |
Sicmot 18.12.2004 07:04 |
I must defend all the "fist held highers". It wasnt just Freddie's priviledge to do that stance.. people have done that ages when performing.. its a gesture of strength snd triumph.. If some of you people see it like imitating freddie.. then we can accuse freddie as well being imitating Harry belafonte for audience shouting.. with "dee do deedo dee do's". :) |
iGSM 18.12.2004 07:49 |
Or Freddie for growing a beard a la Macca.. Actually I just say that because I'm listening to The Beatles. In fact Eddie Murphy at the end of 'Raw' does an extremely Freddie like pose. Extremely! |
The Fairy King 18.12.2004 08:51 |
I think he's quite good! Nice voice, good range too! He has done some good stuff in his other bands. Give him a chance people! |
mamamia 18.12.2004 15:51 |
sorry but what a goof. there's only 1 Freddie Mercury! |

How much are those slices of reality going for, Bob? I need some stocking stuffers. Btw...I can't believe how many killjoys there are concerning this issue! Get over it, for crying out loud. |

"He's really trying to look like Freddie... the F*CKING BASTARD, it's okay that he's going to tour with Rog and Bri, I can live with that... but NOT if he's trying to immitate Fred" I don't think Paul tries to immitate Fred, this is an old pic! He's just raising his arm. He will sing the Queen songs, so everyone WILL compare him with Freddie. That will be a hard job for him! And i hate hearing things like "FUCKING BASTARD"... if I read discussions like that it reminds me of the terrible thing that happened to Dimebag Darrell of Pantera just one week ago who was shot on stage because a "fan" wanted to see him performing with his old band |

as much as i hate paul touring with 'so called ' queen, really paul rodgers has always posed like that,he is a legend in his own right,i know a few huge free/bad company fan's,who think as bad as we do,only the opositte way, they think it's degrading, that paul is touring with queen..what a cheek eh !!no but as i said,he is a great singer, but what a dodgy wig he wear's.. |
QueenSite 19.12.2004 06:43 |
I really like Paul's voice and he did a fab job with Brian and Roger when he sang WWRY/Champions, and I do look forward to the tour. I just wanted to say that, maybe for coincidence, that pic reminded me of Freddie. But this doesn't diminish the fantastic talent of Paul. It's definitely risky for him to embark in such an adventure (comparisons, critics, etc.) but I'm sure he will show he has personality and, of course, VOICE! |

He's just raising his arm.Agreed. And also if you look closely at the PR pic you will see that he is standing on top of a piano - something that I dont recall Freddie doing. |

hey, its a bit unfair to critisize Paul. he´s one of the best rock singers ever. BY THE WAY: i saw him doing this on Isle Of Wight festival when performing with Free, and that was in 1970! check All right Now video. Paul is definitely NOT trying to copy anybody.. |

Brian and Roger have both performes with dozens of different artists through the years after Freddie left us, and i am glad they did! If they both (after 18 !!! years-mind you !?) felt that there was something magic going on between them at the occasions they performed together, then no-one else but them can make the decision that this man, Paul Rodgers , is THE right man for the job now. They have had thousands of offers and opportunities to choose anyone they wish...and till now they NEVER did. If now, after sooooo long, they do make and take the decision to go on a tour again, and give Paul the honours of singing the songs, than WE, (true and respectful Queenfans) should be nothing but supportive and giving them the best tour they have ever had by being the very best audience they could ever want to perform to! NO, did did NOT take George Michael, NOT Robbie Williams, NOT Valensia or Valentine, NOT anybody else...Brian and Roger chose Paul Rodgers, and i am perfectly happy with the choise that the ONLY 2 persons in the world who could and can make this almost impossible choice (not to replace! Freddie!!)and bring another singer on stage to sing this incredably difficult to sing Queen-catalogue live for and to us, the fans. Lets make this tour a celebration to Freddies heritage and life, and enjoy the chances to see our heroes live on stage again!!! And lets ALL light candles, say prayers and hope that the ONLY right bass-player comes along and joins the other 2...Mr. John Richard Deacon...HE of all people should get himself together, take a deep breath, and just DO IT !!! Basje |

Trying to imitate Freddie? You are a first class c@*t. Get a life mate Paul was touring before Freddie and the boys were. I agree with people when they say that Freddie will never be replaced but Paul is not trying. He's a class act and has stood the test of time better than anyone. It has to be said though he is a lot bigger a name in the USA than he is over here, shame cos hes a fellow Boro boy. Up the lads can't wait to see them performing. Just wish people would get off Pauls back when they know nothing of his work. Small minded fools! |
