"Gina, I don't understand why you praise Queen the way you do. First of all, they didn't shape the music world like the Beatles, they didn't have as many hits as the Beatles or the Rolling Stones, and lastly, they certainly weren't consistant, seeing that they lost their popularity in the eighties. So why do you like them again?"-from a friend of mine in a post. What would you have done or said to this comment? Would you have replied? If so....what tactics would you have used? (i.e. Nazi regime-like tactics, cry baby "I'll get you removed for good" tactics, etc) Or would you have simply firebombed their house in a fury of rage? Cheers to you all. **Note, there was some satire intertwined in this post. Can you find it?** |
mike hunt 29.11.2004 23:10 |
who's gina? |
LadyMoonshineDown 29.11.2004 23:17 |
Haha....it's me. Oh yea, and by the way, my name is Gina everyone, lol. Cheers to you |
mike hunt 29.11.2004 23:19 |
oh, and i thought ladymoonshinedown was your real name, I'm in shock. |
LadyMoonshineDown 29.11.2004 23:21 |
Oh no.... Please don't tell me that you used sarcasm in this post. Please oh please...anything but that. ;) Cheers to you |
mike hunt 29.11.2004 23:23 |
no sarcasm |
LadyMoonshineDown 29.11.2004 23:24 |
Haha.... Anyway, could you step down from your 'knee slappin humor' and stay on topic? Geez, lol. Cheers |
mike hunt 29.11.2004 23:30 |
ok, i would have fire bombed their house in a fit of rage, and screamed i'm a real queen fan, that's why i still like them. |
LadyMoonshineDown 29.11.2004 23:33 |
You know what I did? I broke into her house while she was gone, filled her basement with water, let it freeze, then two weeks later, I ambushed her from behind a wal mart and hit her with a nerf ball. lol. Cheers |
LadyMoonshineDown 29.11.2004 23:33 |
Just to clarify (for someone who might believe me) I didn't do that. Ugh, explaining is really dumb. Cheers to you |
Gunpowder Gelatine 29.11.2004 23:46 |
I'd try and explain just how good Queen actually were, but if they just don't get it, I'd realize I've got the superior music taste. :) In the end, I guess it's to each their own, although they're definitely missing out on some amazing music. |
LadyMoonshineDown 29.11.2004 23:59 |
Very true. I've always tried to say that to nazi's on here. (i.e. the amazon review posts) to each their own, but good lord....don't go to great lengths for your own pathetic satisfaction, lol. Anyway, I applaud you, heh. cheers |
mike hunt 30.11.2004 00:30 |
nazis? that's a strong word, well i guess i'v been called alot worse, nazis it is. |
Monte: Liquorice Years 30.11.2004 02:32 |
i probably would of sad.... "wow, thats great! but if you dont like at least one of their songs, then you suck alot of arse, and obviously dont know talent, even when it smacks you in the face. If you dont like all their music, thats cool...i dont really care. But dont criticize them in front of me, because you know i like them, and if you cant handle that, then why do you talk to me?" smile nicely, and walk off. My theory is, if you bore them to death with a nearly endless speech on how crap that person is... and they get over it, and if they dont, they can go fuck a sheep, like the New Zealanders do (thats a funny joke) |
Scirocco1977 30.11.2004 02:48 |
Queen wrote a song about a dead Beatle, but the Beatles never did write one for a dead Queenie... Those bastards... |
Scirocco1977 30.11.2004 05:37 |
Sirocco is okay, too. Different spelling, same meaning. I am the wind in Bohemian Rhapsody. But then again it was my first car... ;) Back to topic: Now and then I am working as a DJ in a late night bar. Whenever the party gets slow, a Beatles song rescues the mood. A Queen song is always a risk. Exceptions are few... Maybe We Will Rock you, but that's about it. So, from this point of view, Beatles beat Queen. |
Lord Blackadder 30.11.2004 12:04 |
Just tell them that you think Queen are best. Done. And count up the amount of Beatles hit singles, then the Queen ones. In U.K anyway Queen had alot more hit singles. Pretty much every Queen single was a hit here. Then firebomb his house. |
Whisperer 30.11.2004 15:47 |
Ask lots of people to name 3 Rolling Stones hits. I don't think you'll get many answers. Everyone know Satisfaction, but what else is there? Paint It Black, anything else? If you ask the same question about Queen, you'll probably get BoRhap, WWRY, WATCH, ABTD, TSMGO, IWTBF and RGG from very many people. |

This was a really random name for this thread. |
LadyMoonshineDown 30.11.2004 21:27 |

I would just like to ask if it doesn't bother you; "What does LADYMOONSHINEDOWN" mean anyway? Cheers |

Queenette=1 wrote: I would just like to ask if it doesn't bother you; "What does LADYMOONSHINEDOWN" mean anyway? CheersI'm obviously not LadyMoonshineDown, but isn't it from Brighton Rock? Because of the line that says 'Oh, lady moon shine down, a little people magic if you will.' I could be wrong, but that's my educated guess. :) |
LadyMoonshineDown 01.12.2004 00:22 |
You're right.... all the obvious Queen names I wanted were taken, so I took that from the song. That is a great song by the way. I'm glad you understood it too, :) cheers |
Gunpowder Gelatine 01.12.2004 00:36 |
What can I say, I'm a genius. Okay, not exactly, but I am a wealth of completely random Queen related information. Who knows, it may come in handy some day! :) |
LadyMoonshineDown 01.12.2004 00:38 |
It will.... Someday one day. Hehe, cheers. |
mike hunt 01.12.2004 04:41 |
now i know where they got those lyrics from, they stole it from you, bad queenies, you should sue. |
GiantSpider 01.12.2004 11:12 |
lol, tbh Queen won the best band of the eightes award. |
deleted user 01.12.2004 17:12 |
there are ppl that like beatles and ppl that like queen an ppl that like both (an ppl that dont like either) what im tryin to say is only queen fans know why like queen. so what if they havent sold as many singles or whatever. theyre still the best. i could listen to all the most popular songs in the world and still go back to queen. why? theyre simply something magic |
Queenette=1 01.12.2004 19:28 |
Right On! DustBite! I'm with you on that one. |
iGSM 01.12.2004 20:50 |
< Actually Her Majesty was written for Queen Victoria. Is..is Ruby Tuesday a Stones song? I'm pretty sure that the Beatles had just a couple more #1's than Queen..probably in the vicinity of 22. |
LadyMoonshineDown 02.12.2004 11:17 |
yea...it is pretty amazing how many singles the beatles had.... But that doesn't mean a thing when comparing Queen and the beatles. There are so many things to compare, honestly. cheers |
Scirocco1977 02.12.2004 13:14 |
What comepetitors did the Beatles have? Seriously I don'T know because I am not that sophisticated in that era. Maybe Elvis? I know Elvis and the whole Rock n Roll business made life harder for Dean Martin et al. It is pretty interesting to see which songs stole the number one slot for Queen songs. Queen had three number ones, right? BoRhap, Pressure and Innuendo (let's not take Days of our lives, cos that would not have succeded without BoRhap). There were more songs that were pretty close to number one, because the music business boomed in the 70s and 80ies. So, which bands came close to Beatles? |
mike hunt 02.12.2004 13:57 |
queen were the kings of the number 2 slot in england, killer queen, sombody to love, rock you/champions/cltcl/radio ga ga/you get the point. it seems there was always some song to knock them off the top. |
