I have wondered this thing a lot of times. How could´ve Queen sounded doing an unplugged.
Was it possible? For example: Brian without his Red Specia; Fred without enough space on stage; etc...
But I also think that Freddie´s voice would´ve sounded awsome (maybe better than usual).
They used to say that their shows used to be better with a big crowd.
I don´t know. What do u thing?
so long as it wasn't the usual "live unpluggeds"
ie - 39, loml etc
i've listed a short set that i think would sound great accoustically - having listened to nirvana/kiss and oasis unplugged on mtv i think you'll find it's surprising how some heavier songs come across very well accoustically
wwry/champions
innuendo
somebody to love (acapella)
you're my best friend
keep yourself alive
it's late
fat bottomed girls
crazy little thing
rain must fall
these are the days
let me live
I think both WWRY/WATC and CLTCL would've sounded awful unplugged. The first one is not really a song with the warmth that is needed for unplugged concerts.
The only thing about the last one, the similarity to an old r&r-song, that I like about this song is based on the use of electric guitars.
as i said in my post - if you listen to some of the songs "carried off well" by oasis, nirvana etc there is no reason why rockier numbers don't work
and as for CLTCL - freddie wrote it in the bath - now don't misunderstand my tone here - but he didn't write it electrically - otherwise he'd have been dead about 1979
so i think with that in mind, the song would probably work accoustically
Could have been great. I wish they had played around with their songs more. Imagine John playing his double bass on AOBTD... lol, okay, just a thought.
