In the Freddie Mercury Tribute post (why no Caballé..etc) we talked about Innuendo by Robert Plant. It's not included on the DVD because Robert Plant didn't like his performance. Well, he's sure didn't sing it like Freddie, but in his own way. You can find the MP3 on my site.
He sings a few lines from the Led Zeppelin song Kashmir as well:
Oh, father of the four winds, fill my sails, across the sea of years
With no provision but an open face, along the straits of fear
My Shangri-La beneath the summer moon, I will return again
Sure as the dust that floats high in June, when movin' through Kashmir.
I do have the complete FM Tribute concert on videotape (somewhere!) so perhaps I can also make that song available as a video soon.
I would love to see the video, Ive heard there´s the whole show on the HUB but I can´t download it because I have a slow conection, If you upload or make a torrent of this video would be great!!!
The entire concert will not be torrented on QZ because it is easily available to buy. Half the concert is on the DVD, but the VHS version I'm sure is still easy to find, and should be dead cheap too. (I remember buying it for £22.99)
Rien will probably put a clip / the one song on his site. He's very good at that!
i happen to LOVE robert plant's twist to innuendo...but then again i'm a HUGE zepp fan...it's actually the only part of the freddie tribute worth watching...the rest is rubbish

You must have been watching a differant version than the rest of us. Besides the concert was for AIDS awareness aswell as a celebration of Freddie and so it doesnt matter if they didnt perform that well, it's not about that. I didnt think it was that bad. And His Crazy Lil Thing was great!
Lets hope there is a full release sometime.

Let's hope not. Let's hope they release new things, rather than release something that's been released twice before. Who cares if it has two more songs? Just track down a bootleg with the missing tracks, and join the rest of us in hope for new concerts on DVD.
yes yes i know it was a tribute to freddie and AIDS awareness...but that doesn't mean i HAVE to enjoy other artists ruining queen's music now does it? axl rose??? please! i'd say there were only 2 or 3 decent acts...but then again...that is just my own opinion.
You're still missing the point of this concert, I guess. No problem with your own feelings about it though. You had to be there (assuming you weren't). It wasn't an easy task for most artists to perform those Queen tracks. It was the intention that counted. And it sure proved how Freddie could sing them.
btw I've uploaded a video from Innuendo from this concert on my site. Again it's a copy from a tape I made from my original tape. (where is that thing!) So don't expect too much.
yes i do get the point of the concert, and no, i was not there because i was 11 at the time - i just feel that most of the artists that performed at that concert were a poor choice, and they didn't serve queen the justice they deserve - i watched the concert once and wasn't impressed being that i've never been a fan of that era of music that most of the acts belonged to - sorry if i've offended anyone - and yes i still say robert plants performance was the best of the night - i listen to the file all the time! very mysterious and enchanting

thanks a lot Rien, I have the Freddie Mercury Tribute VHS and I thought in the DVD will have this song, but you save me, there´s no way to buy the whole show where I live.

I live in Mexico and over here is almost im possible to find that VHS. i have the DVD but it´s not including Queen's medley performed by Extreme, or Zucchero singing las palabras de amor.
People living in countries where its very hard to find good stuff will appreciate if somebody seeds this concert - and many others as well.
i've been a Queen fan for over 26 years and for me it was only a dream to have a concert like hammersmith '75. and now it's a dream come true thanks to this fans who live in Europe, Australia, and USA.
I still wonder if i will ever see Rainbow '74 or Earls Court... i'm trying to download earls but the bit rate remains in 0 KiB/s and never starts...
Thank you all anyway.
RIEN:
in your site there's a screensaver with pics of all queen records, why do you have 2 of queen rocks?, is it another release? is there a chance that you can send me this picture? is the one with the phoenix without the lions and the text "queen rocks" below.
thanks
Thanks for reloading it.
I guess it's not only because of the performance of the singer. The video shows that in the beginning Plant's mic was off. Roger missed one bang in his cymbal after the silent part of Innuendo. And when you hear Mr. Plant singing "Thank you" it's a difference between night and day, I must say.
regards,
W.

The sound quality of this clip is fantastic!
It's the first time i'm hearing some keyboards in Innuendo.
Thank you for uploading.
I agree, the sound is nice and clear.
I always thought the BBC did a good job with nicam transmissions, and I prefer it to the sound on the FM radio broadcast.
There are quite a few other ''nicam'' clips on my youtube channel, just click on the youtube link in my signature.
