Like what records did they listen to?
I know John loved all the Motown stuff, and all of them liked Hendrix, although Brian was probably the most influenced, in terms of guitar work. And Freddie had Tommy, as it says in another thread.

Freddie was supposed to be the most manic Hendrix-fan. He once saw him about a dozen times in a row at different venues.
One of Freddie's favourite albums was Electric Ladyland from Jimi Hendrix. When I heard that album, I thought one of the tracks had something in it that sounded like a fragment of Get Down Make Love.
-John Deacon has ALL of Michael Bolton's recordings.
-Roger Taylor is a huge fan of Zamfir, the pan flutist. Has a life-size poster of him above his bed.
-Freddie was a huge fan of Death Metal, had all the records from Slayer, Anthrax, Death, Cannibal Corpse, and that group that did the song about the three little pigs.
-Brian has the Debbie Gibson Anthology, as well as Tiffany's Greatest Hits, Stacey Q's "Two of Hearts" record, Juice Newton's rare album of Speed Metal called oddly enough, "Juiced", as well as the complete Pat Boone discography, including his foray into Heavy Metal.
I worked in an onion factory in my younger days. I saw thousands of onions on the conveyer belt.
When i got home the last thing i wanted to see / eat was onions!
My point is When you've been in the studio all day or you've been rehearsing for 6 hours... you come home to unwind and relax... the very last thing you want to do is listen to your own songs!
i survived for a week. Not really sure how i lasted that long. Worst job i ever head. Besides it was simply to earn quick money during the holidays before i returned to University.
I was then moved on to a fruit factory - appples, oranges. Heaven compared to onions!
Hi I'm just wondering what records did Freddie,Brian,Roger & John have before, during or after their career in Queen
I think I know what you mean, with your question.
The Queen records that were released while Freddie was alive were:
Queen
Queen II
Sheer Heart Attack
A Night At The Opera
A Day At The Races
News Of The World
Jazz
Live Killers
The Game
Flash Gordon
Greatest Hits I
Hot Space
Fun In Space (Roger Taylor)
Starfleet Project (Brian May mini-LP)
The Works
Strange Frontier (Roger Taylor)
Mr. Bad Guy (Freddie Mercury)
A Kind Of Magic
Live Magic
Shove It (The Cross - Roger Taylor's band)
Barcelona
The Miracle
Queen At The Beeb (known as Live At The BBC in America)
Mad Bad And Dangerous To Know (The Cross)
Innuendo
Blue Rock (The Cross)
Greatest Hits II
Shortly after GHII, Freddie died. The albums that came after that, Queen and solo, were:
Back To The Light (Brian May)
Live At The Brixton Academy (The Brian May Band)
Happiness...? (Roger Taylor)
Made In Heaven (Queen)
Queen Rocks (Queen - compilation of their heavier recordings, and includes what was two new (re-)recordings)
Another World (Brian May)
Electric Fire (Roger Taylor)
Red Special (Japanese Mini-LP, Brian May)
Greatest Hits III (or what I like to call, Milkin' Our Money's Worth)
Furia (Brian May - soundtrack)
A Night At The Opera (DVD-Audio, remixed in 5.1, produced by Brian)
The Game (DVD-Audio, see ANATO DVD-A, produced by Brian and Roger)
And coming up in Christmas is the 46664 studio album, as yet unnamed, and features several new tracks by Queen 1/2
Hope that answers your question.
I remember distinctly from some account that Freddie had Aretha Franklin records (probably the 60's & 70's stuff), but know of no others specifically. I'm assuming he had at least a couple by Hendrix, though, since Queenlore is full of Hendrix references.
