"There will be a couple of teaser tracks from the show (Pim: Milton Keynes) on the upcoming special re-release of "Greatest Hits" on CD in the US, which will also feature the resurrected original vinyl single version of "I'm in Love with My Car" (in response to the big reaction to a current Jaguar TV ad in the USA featuring the track). This limited time release will be timed for the opening of WE WILL ROCK YOU in Vegas - our debut in North America."
from Brian's soapbox. That's going to be one strange Greatest Hits set. Live tracks from Milton Keynes, a relatively obscure b-side etc.
Not that obscure.
Remember that on the original Capitol Records promo release Classic Queen, I'm In Love With My Car was on there next to the big hits. That and the current Jag commerical seem sufficient reason enough to screw with the tracklisting and make fans re-buy it.
Also, this thread gives a little more info on the new release: link
ANOTHER Queen thing to buy? I haven't seen this much merchandise in one year since well before Freddie died. What are Brian and Roger trying to do, bankrupt everyone?? (LOL)
*turning out pockets* I think I have a dollar left....
There's probably going to be a U.S. musical cast album eventually too. Apparently a lot of things have been changed/rewritten for the extra special U.S. audiences. Perhaps even some different songs will be used.
Philipp Nothaft wrote: The Milton Keynes-teaser might be part of an enhanced section rather than on the actual tracklist of the album.
Could be. I can imagine an enhanced section with clips to promote the DVD which comes not long after, and an ad for the musical as well. Just between us, I've learned that there are actually three Milton Keynes tracks :) And aside from 'Car', the rest may not be too exciting.. your standard greatest hits-like fare.
I don't have the full track list but it should be turning up somewhere soon.
What surprises me is that the original UK cast album was released in Canada shortly after the UK release, even when the musical had no openings or known future openings in Canada at the time (and lucky for me, I found a second-hand copy for $10 last year)
I suppose :)
Btw. I like the album. Too bad CLTCL isn't on there, I was disappointed when I found out it wasn't included long after I bought the CD.
And as well, I would like to get the Australian and Spain CD releases, but holy shit are they ever expensive on eBay!
I even bought the Solo Por Ti CD before it came out for over $10 US!
I also found a WWRY UK cast album here in Time Square CD shop for $25 but I didn't buy it!!!!
I also found a special edition of Greatest hits I &II (Gold package) with a very shiny cover instead of the regular gold paper cover.
They both were imported and expensive.
