Today I received the last two cd's in the series of Japanese Cardboard 2004 cd's.
Sounds great of course. There is however an error on this cd. Track 12 (Yeah) has the last second of track 11 (It's A Beautiful Day [reprise]) at the beginning of it. As far as I know the original cd only has the word YEAH.
As you might know, this cd comes in two different sleeves - sunrise and sunset. I've uploaded three tracks for you to listen to and perhaps make up your mind of what you think of it.
I've seen few of those in TOWER on Picadilly Circus... Can't make up my mind, it's bloody £22 each...Are they really that good...? I still think I'd rather spend this money on some old 7" I haven't bought yet...
Perhaps this post wasn't meant for you, BMW.
By the way, none of my original posts are meant for you, since your utterly negative response to my original post about the Mick Rock Killer Queen book.
So, there you have it.
differences are very subtiles... The volume is the same, I can't find any difference between the two... But it's only mp3, we need wave files to hear if there is really a difference.
Actually, the MP3 format is not inferior for hearing differences. It's all down to your ears. You should be able to tell the best way by just listening for the vocals. Use a good pair of headphones. Btw, I still have Rien's 320kbps version of the song which is plenty for a comparison like this.
The vocals in the first part are clearer and easier to pick out. While the second version is kind of muffled.
Secondly, the overall high-end is little muted, also. Hmm...
I'd really like to know what JSS has done with ALL the 2001 remasters. How much work did he actually perform on every single album? Did he just apply similar changes to ALL of them? Thankfully, we do have half the catalogue with a great new sound. But the latter half, Works onwards are strangely altered. It's just so annoying. Don't you think?
Peace,
Adam.
Yeah I figure regardless of the quality, you should be able to tell a difference (if any) between two versions contained in one equal sound file.
I think I mentioned this before, but I did tell Justin S.S. about our little comparisons and our thoughts about the missing midrange and stuff. He hasn't replied since.
Oh SHIT! You didn't, did you?? OH my god. It's not an error. That's probably the way he mixed it! I certainly wouldn't want to receive an email telling me that my work had an error - only to find out that that's actually the way it's supposed to sound! Talk about an insult.
Peace,
Adam.
Yes, and I worded it as insulting as possible. I also told him what a dickwad he was for not catching the Fat Bottomed Girls error.. twice. Then I mentioned how awful he looks in the Bo Rhap segment on GVH1 and told him he should lose some weight and try Rogaine before appearing on camera again.
