Really I have only heard two concerts,'81(my favorite) and '78 (thanks Mr.ProDJ),I listen Love Of My life,Now I'm Here.., and the people so quiet(why don't they sing!?), I know that french is the second language, but is there another reason?
That happened in all concerts in Canada?
Do you have any idea?
Hi, I noticed that they don't sing either and the we will rock you concert was kind of quiet. I am from canada, near toronto... Montreal is both english speaking and french speaking so that doesn't explain it! They almost seemed bored or maybe in awe!! I went to see brian in 1993 in toronto and it sure wasn't quiet there is was awesome so who knows maybe someone here who was at that concert in montreal can tell us! see ya
But that happened in two concerts, even in Montreal '78, Freddie encourages the public to sing (Day Oh),and the people don't respond,in Love Of My Life, Brian and Fred keep silent and the people don't continue the song.
maybe awe
so which is the difference between Montreal and Toronto people?
between Ontario and Quebec
People in Canada (and the US) didn't know Love Of My Life as well as people in other countries, for whatever reason. Love Of My Life was actually released as a single in other countries.
Still you'd think people would know it halfway well since ANATO was such a huge album, but I guess they didn't....
I saw Brian in Toronto in 1993, as well, and it was damn fine show, with a nice repetoire of Queen tunes.
I find a lot of Canadians won't sing along unless the singer "points the mic" to the crowd, or unless the song is known for audience participation, such as Kim Mitchell's "I'm a wild party ( ra ra olé)"
By the way, in the WE WILL ROCK YOU video, filmed in Montreal, Queen screwed up all over the place, Brian missed a lot of backing vocals, played some wrong chords (Somebody to Love)
Cherry... you crack me up!
Everything is GO LEAFS GO! with you!!!!
Yes... but I have to agree.... Toronto has a waaaaayyyy better hockey team than Montreal (and I'm not just saying that because I am a proud Torontonian :)).
Go leafs Go !! woo hoo . I am a huge fan also! Getting back to topic though. i still don;t get it . if you go to there concert you should still know there songs! But queen wasn't really popular in canada and the states after awhile. Although at that time just after the Game came out they were really popular here! Who knows! Seemed way to dead for a queen concert that's for sure . No wonder they never toured again in canada! boooo
CHERRY (You're not Don Cherry, are you ?)
--- How can you say the Leafs are better than the Habs ???
They choked every season since 1967 ....
The Canadiens have won at least seven times since that.
I'am a Major Hab fan, who's lived in TO since 1980, and has absolutely NO confidence in the Buds.
How many hab fan's does it take to screw in a lightbulb??
2 - one to screw it in and one to talk about how great the OLD light bulb used to be!!!
Just joking, the habs I think will be the underdog to watch for!!
As long as a Canadian team wins, that's cool!!!
I've heard the '78 toronto show and the fans seem to be cheering, so I don't know what you guys are talking about!!
Mike
GO LEAFS GO!!
