... aren't as psychotic as teenagers? It can't just be the raging hormones.
I hate almost every single teenager I see. They're all so fecking annoying, all like the same things, feel the need to like the same things, get mad at people who don't like the same things ... and it's not just one group or another, it's every group. Especially the ones that think they're different!
lol, if thats what you think, you should meet Odette Jones, shes in her 30's and still acts like a spoilt brat!
But were'nt you a Teen once?
And I know what you mean, it's called peer pressure, and fear drives them to be fake, dunno if that made sense?
Ah, the young and the useless... I can only tell you that twelve years ago, when I was in high school, there was a overriding fear of being different and therefore being singled out for ridicule. At least that is how it was for most of the people I knew. I did my own thing and never thought twice about it. I won't tell you that I never cared what anyone said about me because that is bullshit; it is human nature to care about what others think of you. Also, most teens try too hard to act grown up and the more they act out the more annoying it is and the more evident it is that they have a long way to go toward actual maturity, emotional and physical. I yield the shrink's couch...
In my 20 years on this planet, I've discovered that teenagers and adults are as messed up as each other - teenagers tend to express opinions and be nasty to everyone else because it's the cool thing to do, while adults are just as nasty, but they hide it a little better.
Not me, of course. I'm perfect.
Why do you have to focus on the bad examples? Sure, there are bunches of teenagers who act horrible and annoy me no end, but there are those who truely are different from the others. I've just recently gotten rid of two "friends" who can be described perfectly well by your post above. However I have also managed to replace those two with amazing people; they are kind, intelligent and funny - I don't think they ever could be looked upon as annoying! And I don't know about me, but I don't think I have made any huge trouble on this board despite my rudely young age.
Now for your question...
Teenagers are in the middle of everything, not children and not yet adults. They are in a maturing process, which naturally takes a lot of time and is very confusing. Normally, one begins to calm after 20 or so. The rush to LIVE comes in the teenage years, there's the pressure to get drunk, get laid, be cool, create a life you can be "happy" about... Naturally teenagers feel pressured, and they act in stupid ways to make themselves more interesting and popular.
My guess is that after 20, people calm down a bit more. They slowly get done with the maturing process and figure what they *really* want to do with life.
Makes sense?
Under pressure, you say you're 18, so how do you define teenagers? Aren't you one of them?? You just proved you want to be different, if you speak like this about teenagers, like you're above it:) I'm also 18 and can say I never consiously tried to be different, nor to be like everybody else. Just always did my own things on my way... I think it's crap to say all teenagers are annoying and all those adjectives you said.. I know many kids (much younger than me) who are mature and grown up as I will probably never be;) and also know many grown ups (in paper at least) who act like spoiled brats. So I guess it's different for every person, hasn't got much to do with age...
BTW, I put myself into those who will never grow up;)) Oh God, does it mean I'll still masturbate on Roger's poster when I'm 70???? Bloody hell....

Just a tiny little bit too much information there. ;-)
