Why is it that Nero burns a VCD file that is 740,000,000, and when I want to turn it into a SVCD file, it gets too big for an 80 min cd? I don't understand that. What does SVCD do to make it so much bigger?
Any help will be helpful. Thanks.......
Naturally if you convert vcd into svcd, the resolution will be higher and also the bitrate, this causing a larger filesize /minute. Now why would you want to "turn" a vcd into svcd ?
Well it started out as a mpg file, and I wanted to 'convert' ;) it to an SVCD file. Because sof the better quality. It's hard to imagine that it would cause such a large increase in size. Is there another method or program that works as well or better than Nero?
I haven't actually checked or tried, but I heard you can only get something like 45 minutes on SVCD.
I haven't seen much of an improvement over VCD, and it seems to take much longer to convert stuff to the right format, so I usually don't bother.
Haven't tried Nero for VCDs yet. I've been using NTI. I used to use 2 separate programs.. one to make the 'image', one to burn it. The good old days :-P
If your source is really an MPG file of a VCD standard
(either NTSC or PAL) converting it to SVCD
will in no-way improve its quality.
Rubbish in = Rubbish out.
Kind of like converting an mp3 to a wav thinking the
lost frequencies will magically re-appear IMHO.
