I was in Barnes and Noble the other day, and I saw a copy of an on-CD "unauthorized biography" of Queen. It looks interesting, and I WOULD get it - but I hate unauthorized bios, their purpose is usually to make the subject look bad.
Do any of you guys know what I'm takling about? It's got a very young-looking picture of the band on the front. Should I buy it? It's so hard to come across Queen stuff in my area, but an unauthorized bio is an unauthorized bio.
I have an unauthorized bio that was a book with an interview CD, And it portrayed them in a very good light! It was called "Queen"... Sorry! Not much help am I? LOL!
It has some good stuff in there Mandy, it has parts of their interviews in there, i would say buy it, it has a nice little poster of Freddie inside, good buy IMO
I have one called 'Queen' also! Small world eh? It has a slipcase with the 'Save Me' single pic, same pic on the picture disc which contains about 15 minutes of terrible quality interviews including the Brazilian "How does it feel to play in front of XXX people? Freddie: I haven't done it yet" and one with Alan Thicke.
The book is very good though, by Mick St. Michael. Close-up of Freddie singing on the cover.
I do have a disc called 'Maximum Queen' but mine is what it says.. 24 tracks on 1 disc, an editing project of mine.. wanted to see how many songs I could get on 1 non-MP3 disc :-P
Unauthorized biographies are not necessarily bad; often they are just a lot more objective and a lot less sucky-up than authorised ones. And you might find out some interesting gossip...
