Hey everybody......I'm back!
Just wondering when it was that Rog wrote that (in)famous letter to Rolling Stone and what the article was to provoke him.... any links would be appreciated.
Can't remember exactly, I think 80 or 81. They got a crappy reiview from RS by a person who only heard the soundcheck. Roger ripped him a new one! lol. You can read it on Trancers page. Oh, and he wrote in on an airsick bag....very appropriate. Here's the link to the letter. link
Not surprising. If you read some of Rolling Stone's original reviews, they didn't seem to care much for Queen. Even the semi-positive ones take jabs. Many of them are available online: link
Tell me, P_G, when was the last time you ever said anyhting helpful to anyone?
Other than "We already have a thread about this" or "Go find it for yourself".
The main thing I remember about the letter is that it was written on a sick bag. There's a copy in the Roger photo gallery on QZ.
"the paper now ranks right down there with the lowest of the low, with the Sun,"
Obligatory mention of the WWRY CD that was an exclusive for The Sun. Hard to enjoy this letter when you see the bigger picture.

- And did I dream this, or didn't Brian endorse their "quid for an Iraqi kid" campaign (or whatever it was)?
...it's vicious, prurient and invasive behaviour, and it's relentless and callous destruction...
I think I spy an apost-tastrophe there Brian. Dearie dearie me.
Oooh could you scan that? It would be kinda funny since Rolling Stone and Queen don't get along so well :)
Also if anyone knows the issue I have a friend who might be able to find it.
In case you guys haven't notices, Rolling Stone gets on well with no one. Certain reporters (e.g. Cameron Crowe, David Fricke, Anthony DeCurtis) get on well with people.
