How great is this song??? It just got me! Although I have listened to it Mio of times before I just realized how great it really is and now I can't stop listening to it. Freddie's voice sounds kind of "smoky" (if that's what you call it) at some parts... it's just an awesome love song, isn't it?? |
Daburcor? 25.01.2004 13:34 |
I LOVE that song! :D |
Whatinthewhatthe? 25.01.2004 13:46 |
Freddie did an excellent job on that song. So did John in writing it! Notice the vocals weren't in many high registers. Kinda reminds me of Jealousy...I listened to Jazz last night and still love the songs (but still skip FBG and BR)! |
Sonja 25.01.2004 13:48 |
Jealousy is awesome, too!!! My favourite on "Jazz". |
bleeding heart show 25.01.2004 13:53 |

RainMustFall 25.01.2004 17:47 |
Yes... it helps to make Races a truly awesome album. I like the solo particularly. |
Whatinthewhatthe? 25.01.2004 18:44 |
It would have been a great song live, like '39. A real shame they never did Princes of the Universe live -- Freddie probably would have lost his voice though! (So mnay registers, mine tends to waver by the "yeah -- YEAH!" part.) |
CatGurl14 25.01.2004 21:50 |
"You and I is my fav Deaky song!! :D I love the part with "ooh you know I never could forsee the future years" just great!!" I totally agree! :D That line is my absolute fave, in my top 10 of all Queen songs. hehe |
D.Blythe 25.01.2004 23:50 |
"You and I" has a great Brian solo. Parts of the song always sounded live to me, as if they recorded the basic track live in the studio. Probably not the case, but I will indulge my fantasy. |
nazila queena 26.01.2004 00:14 |
oooohhhh...lovely song with strong & beatiful lyric. i love it so much. bravo for FREDDIE's voice & thanke you from JOHN DEACON for wrire this. |

"Ooh, you know I never could foresee the future years You know I never could see where life was leading me"... Yes, I like that song. I love Jealousy too. I listened to that number for several times last weekend. |
Hitman 26.01.2004 05:15 |

Penis - Vagina 27.01.2004 00:17 |

MexQueenFM 27.01.2004 00:20 |

Saffron Caribou 27.01.2004 00:25 |
Agreed, one of the most underestimated songs ever. My heart just sinks during the line, the music that accompanies this line "Floating softly to where we lie" Gets me teary everytime. *sniff* That riff in that line makes me think of angels in the clouds with harps looking down towards a couple looking deep into each others eyes. Then this angel sings that line, and angel dust drops lightly to the ground blessing them. *sigh* |
Saffron Caribou 27.01.2004 00:27 |
Gah, after reading that! I either sound desperate, or there is a broken pipe that its making me write strange things @_@ |

Ah, I forgot about that..MBDM, good song. I must admit...I think IWTBF stinks! |
Saffron Caribou 27.01.2004 00:46 |
IMO John is the second best songwriter after Freddie. My favourite Deaky song hmmm thata a toughie tie between You and I, and In only 7 days. When I feel sappy, I turn to John. Oh forgot about Misfire, a song about erectile disfunction :P |
Brian_Mays_Wig 27.01.2004 00:47 |
Doesnt Pele know a bit about that?? |
MexQueenFM 27.01.2004 00:47 |
lol Shoujo, shit forgot IWTBF, best song ever!!! lol , damn , he was just a great songwriter that old Johnny, and in only 7 days takes the prize too |

Penis - Vagina 27.01.2004 02:21 |
I'm not sure why, but "I Want To Break Free" is my favorite Queen song, not just John song. The original album version is quite weak IMO. It's just a cute little bouncy pop song, but when they extended & remixed it, brought out that Fred Mandel-played synth intro, the song just came alive, became beautiful. I think those synth parts are very moving, they convey a longing, melancholy while the song remains lighthearted and fun. The one thing I wish was different is the 'guitar' solo, which seems to be synthesized and I lovingly refer to as the 'electro-fart solo' :) It's cute, but a real live guitar sound woulda been nicer. And yet my favorite album is A Day At The Races, so I can't explain why, but I listen to IWTBF daily. |
Spisso 27.01.2004 08:50 |
...excuse me if i'm late, but i think that "You And I" is great too... |
Mona Lisa 04.02.2004 18:48 |
I Love "You and I." It's a pretty song and Freddie's vocals are great on it. Then again, Freddie's vocals were great all of the time. :D |
