Queenie got out today (my dad's fault btw) and we spent half an hour to 45 minutes chasing her! she went down the street, back, down the street, back, (over and over again) THEN she went the the next street over and back, (over and over again) and this old lady in a car was passing through and queenie was out in the road and my mom yelled "WATCH WHERE YOU"RE GOIN BITCH!!!" ....at least i think she did.... maybe i was thinking it....
then after about 10 minutes after the old lady in the car thing i got one of her squeaky toys out of the house and then she ran up to the house and just ran around the front yard for about 3 minutes then my grandma started squeaking one of her other squeaky toys and she came in. it might have been cause she heard a garbage truck though... she hates garbage trucks...
i just had to tell somebody..... *rams head into wall*
My dog's part Jack Russell terrier and she used to have a terrible problem with getting out, even after obedience training. It's because we used to run after her and she saw that as a game.
Now we just ignore her (she'll hide under the deck), leave the door open and she'll come back on her own.
Your dog will quieten down a lot, I promise. My dog's not quite 3 and she's already behaving better.
