I think Brians guitar solo in You Don't Fool Me is one of his best solos ever.
But I think the solo does not really fit with the song.
Both the song and the guitar solo are great but I don't think they go together.
Does anyone else feel Brians solo in fool me feels out of place ?
Some quotes from Brian about You don't fool me: link
comment from another fan thinking it's one of the best solos. I also am in love with this solo and think it's one of his best. link
You would think that the comparison is odd, but nonetheless I compare it to the Great king Rat solo. It is another solo from which I can't get enough, another really hypnotic one.
Brian at his best. Kind of stuff he's doing in Resurrection and in the Queenified I was born to love you. (and he nailed this one on the asian QAL tours. I wish they would play Great King Rat on the next tour... One can dream. Or.... You don't fool me... Maybe the style of Adam who could bring something to it ?? )
Interesting interview, towards the end, Brian and Roger talk a bit about You don't fool me as well. link
On the "stretching things out" point Brian makes, I thought the vocal sounded stretched - slightly to its detriment. And I don't think - if that is true - the track needed stretching.

You are absolutely right!

because its a terrible pop song
Interesting. Are you another of these fans who consider songs like "Headlong" a highlight of the "Innuendo" album and basically need a fucking ear transplant? Go to Moscow, you'll get one.

It is a great solo. It does not feel out of place. Case dismissed.
Correct.
It is a beautiful thing.
Side two of Made In Heaven is absolutely perfect, with not a single note out of place.
I think the album is as near-perfect as was possible. The only thing I'd have changed, would have been to arrange IWBTLY and MIH a little closer in sound to the Freddie originals.
IWBTLY was Freddie's solo "Don't Stop Me Now" - but I think "rockin' it up" loses a little.
MIH - giving it the Red Special treatment, somehow makes it sound more camp than the original.
I could be persuaded to keep it if they moved it to track 1 of the album. And maybe change it to a more powerful and longer YEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHAAAHH like Freddie would do during live shows! Hmm, not a bad idea if I say so myself.
