A question here for fellow Queen fans, For anyone here who owns the Greatest Flix I & II double sided DVD that was released in the 1990s as a promo only item and not sold in stores. Does anyone's copy of this DVD have a skip in the video for Love Of My Life? This anomaly begins around the 41:31 mark. It's almost as if there is a loop in the audio for about six seconds. I'm wondering if my copy is defective or are they all that way? Thanks in advance. Pizza Oven |

Yes, mine does the same. It repeats Freddie's "...Beautiful!" a couple of times. |

Are you both playing from the original disc? |

To, The Kurgan My disc is the 1997 Greatest Flix 1 & 2, two sided promo only DVD that is limited to something like 30,000 copies and was never for sale in stores but given away with a certain Toshiba DVD player. I bought my copy online early this year. What disc are you referring to? |

On a similar-ish note... has anyone noticed the repeat/skip in All God's People? I feel like the only one who has mentioned it online. Check out 1:02 on this link: link The harmonies sound like they meant to say "Love, love and be free", but it sounds like they decided that they want it to repeat, but didn't edit it properly, leaving us with "love, love and BEEF love, love and be free" Always found that one a bit weird, lol. |

It It sounds like an overdub. |

Thanks for the info so far. Besides the 1997 Greatest Flix 1 & 2, two sided promo only DVD. For anyone here that has Greatest Flix 1 on laser-disc or VHS. Is the flaw on "Love Of My Life" present on any of these formats/releases as well? The reason I ask is that I bought a VHS dub of Greatest Flix 1 & 2, back in 1992 since a seller in Goldmine magazine was selling VHS dubs direct from laser-disc plus it had three of the four videos from Box Of Flix as a bonus, the one video missing was "Now I'm Here." I can't find my VHS dub at the moment but I seem to recall the flaw on "Love Of My Life" was present on that as well which was sourced from laser-disc. The bonus videos seemed to be sourced from VHS. Am I imagining this or can someone check their laser-discs or VHS of Greatest Flix 1 to be sure and let me know if the flaw on "Love Of My Life" is on one of those other Greatest Flix 1 releases? Thanks. Pizza Oven |

Hello Queen fans, Another question or two. Does anyone here own any of the Greatest Flix I & II Laser-discs? Either the separate volumes or the combo of the two volumes which is actually a Box Of Flix since it has the four bonus tracks that were released on the Box Of Flix UK VHS tape. If so, do any of these Laser-discs have the glitch in "Love Of My Life"? Since I am new to this forum and am not familiar with all the functions, I was wondering how a member can quote someone here in a reply? Also, the three almost identical messages I posted, is there anyone who I can contact here (site admin or moderator) to delete two of the three posts as to keeping the correct one of the three intact? Plus I flubbed a bit and actually hit reply and it made a post(s) that has no info typed in it since it was an accident. Is there a temporary edit function to correct or delete a post if an error is made within a few minutes after posting? Sorry for all the questions. Thanks. Pizza Oven |

The laserdisc does not have the glitch. It's also worth noting the Promo DVD has only ac3 and mpga audio. |

Is this true for all the laser-discs that have been released? I'm sure you know this but there are the Japan laser-discs as well as the UK versions. There is the USA laser-disc that is missing the Bicycle Race video. I need to find my VHS dub that I bought in 1992. I'm pretty sure the glitch is on my VHS dub of what I would assume is the USA laser-disc. I need to find it to confirm. I was told by the seller that my VHS dub was from laser-disc. At that time, especially here in the USA it was hard to find anything video related to Queen. You either had to buy the imports and/or have a laser-disc player and buy the Japan laser-discs. The formats besides Japan and USA were PAL only for the UK and I have never owned a laser-disc player. And they were expensive to buy as imports or even hard to find someone selling them or the OOP VHS. What country are your laser-disc(s) from? As far as the lossy audio on the promo DVD. I'm more into the Flix videos for the visual art aspect. The music on the videos is good enough for me as I can listen to my Queen CDs, vinyl and cassettes or even 8-track. Pizza Oven |

For anyone in the USA that does not have the Queen - Greatest Flix I & II double sided promo only DVD, there is a seller on eBay selling them for USA $24.99 + USA Shipping: $3.79, and they are still sealed. Cheaper than what I paid for my copy: link |

Pizza Oven, if you bake the Promo DVD containing ac3 and mpga for 4 days in an pizza oven at 50 °C you will obtain a DVD with DTS and LPCM. It's the same technique successfully used at ANATO DVD-A. |

I know this Promo DVD came out 22 years ago which is a long time ago but I have had mine for less than a year. Is the Promo DVD not too popular here among QueenZone forum members? Is it considered substandard or is it still liked by some here? Other than the small flaw on Love Of My Life and the indexing error for Bohemian Rhapsody, it doesn't sound or look too bad to me. I don't have any DVD-A discs, but I'm tempted to get the ANATO Anniversary documentary that came out early last decade. It contains videos for all the tracks for that album plus from what I have read here a better quality video version of the "Flames" Bohemian Rhapsody video. Is it a worthy DVD to pick up? |

Pizza Oven Thanks for the offer, The Kurgan for a better version of Love Of My Life. It's not that big of a ideal. I already have that video on some other DVDs. This is what I own so far. Some are legit licensed DVDs but a couple are ROIOs but the quality is very good, at least to me. 1. Queen Greatest Flix I & II, Double Sided, Limited Edition, Promo DVD EMI 1997 2. Queen Greatest Flix I & II, 2xVCD PMI 1994 3. Queen Greatest Video Hits 1, 2xDVD Hollywood 2002 4. Queen Greatest Video Hits 2, 2xDVD Hollywood 2003 5. Queen Greatest Video Hits, 2xDVD Eagle Vision 2012 6. Box Of Flix (actually titled Queen Greatest Flix I & II) 1xDVD Bootleg 7. Queen Greatest Hits & Classic Queen 2xDVD Bootleg 8. My 1992 VHS dub from laser-disc of Queen Greatest Flix I & II plus 3 bonus tracks from Box Of Flix, only missing the video for "Now I'm Here." The bonus tracks were most likely sourced from a VHS tape plus no Bicycle Race video. The aspect ratios for the Greatest Video Hits DVDs are a little bothersome to me to some extent. But for the most part I'm happy with what I have and I have noticed the wonderful restoration work some of you have done here to try and make the videos right as far as their aspect ratios and general presentation. Very impressive! Is there any other Queen Promo Video DVD compilations that one here would recommend me being on the lookout for or do I have most of what's available from retail except for the rare alternate and unreleased videos that are on YouTube which is just amazing. I never knew these existed. Thanks everyone for your replies and help. Pizza Oven |

With the 1992 VHS dub are you referring to a simple copy or a factory made version? I can't remember the order of the bonus tracks on it, but I had 3 or 4 versions and they all cut off at various points during the bonus tracks and were missing a whole song. Like they basically screwed up how much tape they needed on tape 1. |

Like they basically screwed up how much tape they needed on tape 1.Hi Dysan, It's not something you would find in a retail store and it is not a legal release from what I can tell but it is professionally done with a nice front art two sided insert with track-listing/credits plus the DVDs have nice simple looking labels. There is no back insert. Five bonus tracks are on disc two. The DVDs have menus as well for quick searching of the vidoes. I'm pretty sure they are DVD-R discs but the quality and picture is perfect. I would consider it to be a very nice quality bootleg. I can't see any real noticeable VHS artifacts from what I can tell. I bought it off of eBay from a seller in the Ukraine. My listing expired but he had another copy up for sale that did not sell. See link below: link |

Ah ok thanks. BTW I was referring to my official VHS version of Box Of Flix with the abrupt ending error. I'm not sure I've heard anyone else have this issue but because I had a few copies I think it was a universal issue with it. |

If it ended on tape one than that's probably why I didn't get the "Now I'm Here" video on my 1992 VHS dub. Was that the song that cuts off early? |
. 17.11.2019 11:07 |
I have the 1991 UK VHS release of Box Of Flix MVB99913243. Now I'm Here does not cut off before it ends on tape1 and the duration of that tape is 1:19. The other three bonus videos are also complete. |
dysan 17.11.2019 12:24 |
I'm guessing mine would've been a later pressing - this was towards the end of the 90s ish? @pizza tape one had the bonus stuff - I genuinely can't remember what song had the cut |
