...if he was the one to tour with Queen? I meant this as an actual question not a jab at Lambert though personally I dislike him |

Marc would be good. |
Sealion 28.10.2019 21:56 |
Some fans would like it better. But to keep it real: Q+AL is currently one of the hottest acts on earth. It it AL, who brought Q+ there? No. It’s the movie in the first place. Still, it’s known, that Q+AL is a great show. Great music, great entertainment, a lot of nostalgia. It works and the reputation and reviews are brilliant. Most people, who attend the shows, are stunned and raving about it. Even I had a change of mind, after I got to see them live. Which I refused to do in the beginning. Adam as the frontman is a hell of a singer. He can sing all those songs, that I love. Sure, different from Freddie, but still great. Marc is closer to Freddie. But do people want a clone? Also, Marc does have bad nights occasionally and doesn’t have the same vocal range like Freddie and Adam. So it depends on what you prefer. Opinions will always be different. Adam’s biggest plus is that he’s a showman. A frontman. As much as I like Marc, I cannot think of him working a huge crowd of 15-20k people. It works in smaller venues. Adam’s appearance, stage antics and jokes aren‘t appreciated by every Queen fan. I could for sure live without some of it. But nevertheless, he works the crowd and has them in the palm of his hand. The shows work, despite Adam being very different from Freddie. Most probably the great chemistry between Roger, Brian and AL is another reason the show works so well. I don’t think, good old Rog (God moved out, when I moved in) and Mister Martel (with his religious songwriting) are really on the same page. Under Pressure by Roger and Adam is one of the highlights of the shows for me. Wouldn’t work between Roger and Marc. |
MisterCosmicc 28.10.2019 21:57 |
I’d rather see Brian and Roger solo shows. Marc Martel is great, but I’d rather watch his solo shows as well. I think Marc could create an awesome 80’s pop/rock influenced band, his singing is so much better than Lambert’s, but let’s put Queen down, let’s focus on Freddie’s solo songs. |
AngelR 29.10.2019 02:36 |
Martel is a full time Freddie tribute act nowadays - definitely not a sex machine ready to reload.....boring If Brian and Roger wanted to replace Freddie with an imitator Marc would've been a great choice I guess. Although Gary Mullen would've been even better as his tribute show is more fun than Martel's. A better vocalist Marc vs a better showman Gary!!! |
SweetCaroline 29.10.2019 04:15 |
Great post, Sealion! Well said! I don’t know anything about Gary Mullin. Marc is a nice guy but is lacking charisma! I would take Jeff Scott Soto before him! |

Just saw his appearance at our local German TV - now tell me Lembird does it better lol. Awesome performance - he is eating Lameturd for breakfast! link He is completely down to earth and not a sad arrogant prick that this current "Thing" on the Queen mic is. Great guy |

In some early videos he sounded a lot like Fred but here he's not doing an impression, just singing the song they way it's meant to be sung. I'm not 100% on board with his tone in the higher register but to my ears it's more soulful and less thin than Lambert. With all that said, I doubt he will ever be part of Queen+ as I suspect it's reaching the end of its lifespan. |

He surely won't but he in Queen + is still way more credible than this manufactured pop clown. And his solo stuff is impressive as well. And his old christian Band too. No wonder he sang in the movie and Lamebird got his role as gay trucker. Says it all.... |

Just to state the facts. Because close to the release they had found /received a great audio recording of Live Aid, that they never knew existed. Brian has confirmed, that it’s 99% Freddie, whom you hear in the movie. They did barely use Marc‘s voice in the end, because they didn’t need it. But yes, Marc did record it all. It’s for sure shelved and you can hope, that he will release it some time in the future. |
runner_70 29.10.2019 20:00 |
Hahaha - BRIAN who? The guy who said that they did not tour until Years before Live Aid? The one that says that the movie is completely right??? You really believe his crap??? YOu can notacable hear Marc in the Live Aid Section and that has nothing to do with "New Freddie tape" unless Freddie has risen from the grave and sang it himself. I hate the movie but it is wellknown that it is not "99% Freddie". Well it is "0% Lamebird" |

Runner's got it. Freddie said to Brian after tentions cooled in the mid-80's after Brian was heartbroken of Mr. Bad Guy and Brian threatened to quit (Freddie never quit, Freddie just wanted to get a damn solo album out, which he hardly even promoted, but Brian got butthurt about it since Freddie didn't give the songs to Queen), "When I dream, it's like an orchestra, and it's you... I hear you playing your guitar." And that was Freddie's dream, he heard it. But then Brian brought in Adam since then after Freddie died, and what an INSULT to Freddie's own dreams and vision about Queen, a band Freddie formed since childhood and wrote about. Freddie who had the financial say about anything about Queen, about any single or any commercial sales of a song, whether it was by him or not, to a commercial, a movie, or whatever fucking else, Freddie had the final say in terms of every Queen product. People don't like to admit it, but Freddie was the leader of the band, it's why he could say, "No touring this place or that" because he was 100% irreplaceable. Brian and Roger just need something to do in their later years. |
