Have you ever done it ? I sent a letter to Brian three months ago and I'm not sure if he'll answer me. I was reading about people who sent a letter too and they have got an answer after a month. But they were mostly from London or from England. I'm from Slovakia so I think it can take a long time to letter come to England from there. I've also tried to write him an email few times, but I've never recieved an answer. I just wanted to know if Brian really answers letters and emails ... And I'm sorry if there are some mistakes, I'm not very good in English |

He answered a few emails a while ago, always kind and willing to help. Such a gentleman. |

Yes. If you make a critical comment or arguementative point, he sometimes takes the bait He doesnt like to be criticised and will respond on soapbox if you can make a salient point Ive argued with him about animal testing of drugs and he gets quite heated and pompous but stand up to him |

Don't take it personally if he doesn't respond. He's an incredibly kind and generous man, but there are only so many hours in a day - and no doubt each day produces hundreds if not thousands of messages to the point that he needs to employ someone to sift through them. |

One of my Teachers at school wrote to him and he responded. This was back in 1993 or something. He asked him about how he got the guitar sound on Save Me. He said it took a long time to get a response, but still a decent thing to do. I'd much rather receive a letter than an email. |

"I sent a letter to Brian three months ago" Where? I sent a letter to Brian maybe 25 years ago via the fanclub but it got sent back with a very polite letter saying Brian was busy but I knew they wanted to say 'are you fucking serious, he is Brian fucking May!' |

He must be overwhelmed with emails. I bet he receives tons of them. |

In 1990 i have sent a letter to John about why he doesn't sing. I never got a personal reply but the question was printed and replied in the fanclub magazine. |

I emailed him in Feb/Mar 2006 letting him know I had seen an advertisement at a movie theater, just before the movie "V" came on, for the 2006 QPR North American Tour. I saw them on that tour in San Diego on Apr 1, 2006. Think I got a response back along the lines of "glad to hear the word is getting out about the tour". |
Iron Butterfly 29.09.2019 08:58 |
I did, after Jeff Healey passed away. He replied on his soapbox. |

Yes, I wrote to him in September 2018 about the OST for "Road Games" appearing on his official YT channel. It was spotted by John S Stuart, and he (John) wrote to me about it, seeing if we could do a bit of detective work together as he didn't think it was our Brian, but the Australian composer. I wrote the following to Brian, but have had no response. However, said content seems to have been removed from his channel. "Hi Brian, hope you are well, and recovering from your recent tour. I have a wee question for you, which concerns the OST for "Roadgames" (1981) - currently available through your official YouTube channel. This has thrown up some confusion among some Queen fans, as IMDB lists the soundtrack as being by the Australian composer Brian May and not you. IMDB also lists a short "lecture" video about the movie, on which said Mr. May is a speaker alongside the director. The question simply is....was this recording actually you? (Sorry this seems like a daft question as it's on YOUR YT channel, and I assure you the question is not out of ignorance) Ovbiously you will know what you recorded and what you didn't, but this upload really has set the cat among the pigeons as it were, and a few of us are genuinely confused (we had been unaware of the movie and OST - and IMDB hasn't helped the issue) You have a very distinctive sound which, with the utmost respect, doesn't scan on these recordings. We know that musicians will often change styles, experiment with new sounds etc and so that would have settled it - but this is where the timeline throws us! The movie "Road Games" was released in 1981, which would be shortly after "Flash Gordon", but also during a massive Queen tour between 80-81 AND recording for Hot Space. That's quite a workload! Again, the question is not out of ignorance or disrespect. We had been debating whether or not you had full control over your channel, and whether you knew this had gone "live"? Could you please clear up the confusion and give us a little insight into the recording, how it came about, the style you used and the timeline? Best wishes...." As I say, no answer from Brian (yet), with online searches throwing up some confusing answers. To date, IMDB still lists the OST as being Australian BM, however Wiki lists it as being our Brian. |
