Bollocks. I meant to click on 80s but clicked on 90s instead. Now i can't seem to change that. Well, just imagine the 80s has one extra vote and the 90s has one less.
I listened to my cousins Queen 1 LP and I was very excited. It was not long until I had my own copy which was played to death,so I should say it was early 1974.However before Queen came along I was a big Sweet fan and Slade ,but only on 45's,i am ashamed to say that my first LP was Crazy Horses by The Osmonds.
I can't remember exactly when. I remember watching the video for We Are The Champions on YouTube when I was about 8 which means roughly 2009. I remember the first Queen album I got was A Night At The Opera which would've been no later than my birthday in 2010 because it wasn't the 2011 reissue. (I got the Queen II reissue the following year.) I was too young to remember!
WATC and We Will Rock You were the first two Queen songs I remember listening to on YouTube. I think the first Queen song I remember was Don't Stop Me Now but it was the McFly's version which was a big hit when I was younger.
I remember watching the videos for Bohemian Rhapsody, Radio Ga Ga, Somebody To Love and Breakthru early on when the official Queen YouTube account uploaded the videos when they were in their infancy (or possibly even before they were uploaded).
For me, it was 1987. Live Magic was the first album I bought - on vinyl. Then I picked up Greatest Hits at the library, and it went on from there. Live In Budapest was the first VHS video I got of Queen's. I became a huge fan over the next couple of years and I bought I Want It All The first day it came out. Same with The Miracle album...
But getting into them in 1987 meant I never got to see Queen live. :-(
And yes, I've seen Queen+ AL, but that doesn't count. It's not Queen.
Ugh I don't want to think about it because it's a reminder I'm so fucking old.
I remember the first few years after Freddie died, in the run up to Made In Heaven, "It's been almost 4 years, so long, people will start to forget him", and then wondering if his memory would fade after the 10th anniversary. At that time the Internet wasn't anything like as widely used as it is today, and it wasn't used for listening to music or watching videos (or if it was, it would take you an hour to download something you wanted to hear or see), and for a little while it looked like things might taper off. Put it this way. Had you told me in 2000 that by the end of that by the middle of that decade Queen would have started touring again with Paul Rodgers (but without John) and that by the end of that decade there'd be a new (albeit not exactly stellar or successful) album, I'd have never believed it. AFTER The Cosmos Rocks saga I thought it would largely be over and that interest would definitely wane, and Queen would be a group your grandparents were into, but not in any way active other than perhaps the odd solo effort from Brian or Roger. I didn't think for an instant that they'd have a second wind of touring. Their touring career between Paul Rodgers and Adam Lambert has only been a little bit shorter than the one the original line-up had and that's still quite hard to fathom for me because 2005 still seems recent in my mind. But then I wasted a bunch of years doing shit I didn't want to do. Think of it, it's 2020 next year, and Queen's tour with Rodgers was 2005. When Queen won the Brit in 1990, Bohemian Rhapsody was that same distance behind them as the PR tour is now.
I know people on here don't agree with the Adam Lambert thing or even the Paul Rodgers thing, but I quite enjoyed the fact it gave me a chance to have a Queen experience I wouldn't otherwise have had. Personally I think the regeneration of Queen, with Lambert, should have been done with some new music in mind, but nobody else seems to agree!
Anyway I popped a load of sudafed because I have a shitstorm of a cold coming on so that's part of the reason I'm waffling shite tonight. I don't have an excuse the rest of the time.

Great post mate. Couldn't agree more.
Meant to click on eighties, but I clicked nineties instead. Oh well.
I really loved I Want It All and Was It All Worth It from The Miracle. They were the songs that introduced me to Queen.
