This is from his solo spot in Essen 1980, just before he gets into Battle Theme off the Flash Gordon soundtrack.
Is he just noodling, or is this an actual song ? The audience seems to react as if they recognize what's going on. It almost sounds like Free Bird, but not quite.
That's your Freddie fanboy truncated perception, combined with the lack of comprehending that the electric guitar as a whole it has the same importance as Freddie.
It definitely sounds like a song that the locals might know. The audience may be cheering for whatever reason but somehow it feels more like an actual song rather than a jam. Perhaps it's simply not too accurate and it's hard to recognise because of that.

I also agree.
I’m not well versed in kraftwerk... but i’d bet that Brian was taking a stab at mimicking their keyboard sound on his guitar and then gave up at the end.
Freddie was in red leather pants red leather tie and nowt else in 1980, when in concert and on the video of "Save Me"
Jeans were used in the video "play the game"

Inspired you only paint half a picture. In 1980 Freddie regularly dressed in red leather trousers and matching tie with a black leather bikers jacket. As he had done on much of the UK crazy tour the year before
There were some shows that he performed in blue jeans, few and far between though these were.
By the time the tour reached the UK in 1980 he was dressed in white jeans. None of these items of clothing could be classed as glam.
We The Circle of Eidolon are surprised that for someone who says so much you really have little knowledge of anything. . .
We have spoken, you have no foundation for argument

The Model by Kraftwerk. Wait for the verse to end when listening to the song and then it becomes clearer. Could also be a coincidence. However, this was during a period where they were incorporating the keyboard into their music - they must have spent some time listening to kraftwerk
The Circle of Eidolon: I do want an argument and its a pity when i cannot just join in, and you do not question any one else's posts on here only mine because you are a bully and a spiteful idiot.
Mr Inspired has taken your comment on board and completely dismissed it. I will carry on the way i want to thank you very much.

Roger’s opinion on Skynyrd, haha.
“Roger, in his typical outspoken manner, later recalled the experience of having Skynard open for them:
"They were awful. They were Southern rednecks and they could not believe it when they saw us four caked in make-up and dressed like women. They were outraged, confused, and a little frightened, because the four nancy boys were giving them quite a run for their money on-stage. God, Lynyrd Skynyrd! They were arseholes, frankly. When they played that song 'Free Bird' it seemed to go on for months. As I remember they had three lead guitarists. Hmmm, well we only seemed to need one. Absolute arseholes. Later on they had that terrible fatal plane crash, didn't they? Shouldn't speak ill of the dead... bollocks to that!" “ https://www.queenlive.ca/queen/74-12-05.htm
I can't get rid of the feeling I know the melody from somewhere. It's definitely not Always Somewhere from The Scorpions, and I hear only a vague similarity to the Kratfwerk song. Now I won't sleep because of this :)
Classic crowd behaviour. Someone likes it and claps, someone else thinks they are clapping because it's a song they should know and so on - the next thing you know there is a general round of applause. Brian hears the appreciation for something he's made up on the spot and gets lazy with his writing :)
But yeah, can someone ask him?
