Hi, sorry if this isn't in the right place but I was wondering if anyone can give me links or other sources that show Jim wasn't just Freddies gardener and that they were in a relationship. Also proof that, Freddie asked Jim to move to Munich, Jim leaving money from his book to a hospital, Jim loaning money to a friend, Jim caring for Freddie when he was ill, Freddie changing and becoming at peace due to his relationship with Jim, when Freddie found out about his AIDS. Basically ALL sources that anyone has to defend Jim. |
doughnut 15.04.2019 19:07 |
are you one of those Jim haters ? |
dysan 15.04.2019 20:06 |
Someone should start a thread about the various books that have been written and discuss the nuances of Freddie's love life that he fought to keep private in his lifetime. |

No I'm not a Jim hater quite the opposite, someone I know is however that's why I'm asking for sources so I can hit them with the facts because they're claiming that Jim wasn't in a relationship with Freddie and are also claiming pretty much everything I mentioned above, and they won't shut up until I 'prove it' so I'm planning on overloading them with as many sources as possible to show them the truth. |

Rachel1970, personally I think life is too short to get into debates with people like that. You can’t reason someone out of a position they didn’t reason themselves into. Just show her this. link At least she’ll get to hear Freddie sing and play the piano. Which is after all the point. |
Dougie 4 16.04.2019 07:43 |
I am a long time fan of Queen and Freddie Mercury. However it is only now that I have started becoming a little too curious about his private life, thanks to the movie I guess. I remember reading in Jim's book that he never told Freddie he had AIDS too. So why did Freddie leave so little to him, and that too clubbing him in the will with Joe and Peter? |
dysan 16.04.2019 08:41 |
The 'Cult Of Freddie' fans will bore off those who actually own some records. Like the 'Cult Of Labyrinth' fans ruined Bowie. |

Sweetandtenderhooligan 16.04.2019 23:27 |
Jim didn't tell Freddie he had AIDS because he never developed AIDS. He kept his HIV diagnosis from him for a while because he saw no point in upsetting him. He didn't go clubbing. Going out for a drink isn't clubbing, and Freddie told Jim several times to go out and socialize because he had neglected his friends when he met Freddie and he knew Jim was going to be without his partner soon and he needed friends to rely on. Stop with this absolute nonsense. Spending all your free time hating Jim and creating multiple instagram accounts to stalk Jim accounts, steal their content and make up lies about a dead man is sick and demented. |
Sweetandtenderhooligan 16.04.2019 23:28 |
Also he didn't get as much money as Mary because in 1991, having HIV was a death sentence. He figured Jim would be dead a year or two after him, and left him enough to keep him going until then. He also promised Mary he would take care of her after he broke their engagement and carried a huge amount of guilt for doing that. She was also promised the house long before Jim came along. Now get a life. |

Are you talking about instagram? |
Invisible Woman 17.04.2019 07:09 |
@Rachel1970 The fact what this person doing with several accounts on Instagram is really miserable. But I must say that I saw some of the accounts which support Freddie and Jim. Some of them are very good and nice but some are not appropriate in my opinion. In fact, not accounts ,some comments on some accounts are not appropriate. I don't have account there and I'm glad about that, but if people who have accounts and want to show Freddie's and Jim's love in a good way should carefully choose the topics they are opening and the comments they posting. That's my advice about it. |
dysan 17.04.2019 08:02 |

Sweetandtenderhooligan 17.04.2019 16:41 |
I think the Freddie and Jim accounts are fine, honestly. They are mostly run by younger people with a different sense of humor. Freddie wasn't appropriate many times, so I don't see the problem. They all love them and that's what matters. Rachel, don't bother arguing. I've tried and the Jim hater kept calling me the most horrible names. This woman isn't mentally well and you cannot argue with them. |
Invisible Woman 17.04.2019 17:47 |
@Sweetandtenderhooligan I didn't think it was a great problem. I just don't like some comments below some photos. Let the kids play. :) That's just my opinion, never mind. |
doughnut 17.04.2019 18:04 |
You have the film to blame for all this attention. Lots of new fans for Brian and Roger to rake it in I guess. Lots of very young fans opening up dedicated accounts just to support Jim/Freddie. Not sure if I have seen any Mary ones funnily enough. no point talking to them as a lot of them are demented. |
Sweetandtenderhooligan 17.04.2019 20:17 |
I don't see any demented ones, honestly. The demented ones tend to be the ones opening Jim hate accounts. The pro Jim accounts are run by good kids with younger sense of humors. |
doughnut 18.04.2019 07:01 |
The demented ones I refer to are the Jim haters . |
Sweetandtenderhooligan 19.04.2019 20:50 |
Ah, gotcha. I think it's only one or two people and they appear to be suffering from some kind of mental crisis . The best thing is to block them. They/She wants attention |

It'll fade away. Give it time. I saw it happen right after MJ died and there was a huge surge of curiosity about Lisa Marie and him as well as some (I think) made up stories about him and some Arab college girl. Wieeeeeeeerd. Anyway, to the person who asked about Freddie "clubbing" Jim with the rest of the guys in his will (I think he meant making Jim and Joe and Peter into this group who each got the same amount), I'm gonna stick my neck out and say Freddie was -- as always -- aware of his image and it's the reason he didn't make Jim stand out. But it's no big deal now. I think he made sure Jim would have enough money for treatment (as well as the rest of the guys) as long as he lived. Btw, Jim did tell Freddie about his HIV+ diagnosis. So Freddie knew about it. But Jim never developed AIDS. He died of cancer (a related development, perhaps) in 2010, I think. I'm so tired of all this Jim vs Mary stuff. It makes my heart hurt... I kinda like both of them as I don't really know what the deal was with Mary and Freddie and why she stuck around even after he left her. But I'm gonna try to give her the benefit of the doubt. Jim kinda strikes as a straight arrow with a lot of pride who really fell for Freddie in a big way. To the OP: watch this video and see if you can use some of it for defense ;) link |

I am tired of the jim/mary stuff too. I imagine her quite peaceful life has been shattered somewhat since the movie. But as you said Indy I'm sure it will settle down. I'm going to stick my neck out a bit regarding the will and say I feel Jim Beach may have had an influence on Freddie. I'll leave the rest to your imagination . Anyway it's all so long ago now and nowt can be changed but it would be nice for people to stop with the 'well Freddie left Mary the house so he must have loved her more than jim '. Seriously!! and the 'Mary was there by his side through everything, he loved her, they had unconditional love,......yes but it was bloody Gay ...arrrrrrrrr sorry for the rant, I didn't intend for this to happen lol |

I must say, recently I have become very angry with the movie, Brian, and Roger. Brian and Roger ruined many people's reputations with this movie, and now their families have to do a sort of... walk of shame, per say. For example, Paul Prenter. He really wasn't that awful of a guy, yet Brian and Roger warped him into this monster to give the story a villain. Now look what we have. A bunch of screeching babies whining about how Mr. Prenter is the "Devil himself" and "should be burned on the stake". Its insane, really. It's the same with Mary. They created this person who was sugar, spice, and everything nice in the movie, yet in reality she was an ice cold human being. This damned movie has ruined reputations and I am sick of it. Brian is being a baby about it because whenever someone doesn't agree with his beliefs and gives him hard facts on how he is wrong about something, he blocks them immediately. It's out of sight, out of mind with him. The movie did not deserve to win that many awards, and it most definitely should not be praised for being an embarrassment to Freddie and his entire life. Thank you, good night. |

Speaking about young fans who appeared after movie... Some comments on Instagram are quite amusing.. like the photo of Freddie and his New York daughters and the comment below :"Oh Freddie set trends in everything, they all have moustache just like him!" Or "It is really strange that all Freddie's boyfriends had a moustache!" Or Freddie wearing "Jim's ring" in 1984, Mary holding her baby in Wembley backstage and Freddie looking at them wishing it was his baby... Lots of funny stuff actually :) but they all love him and watch Bohemian Rhapsody over and over again. Nice! |

Yesterday I had to explain to bunch of Freddie biggest fans that it can't be Jim Hutton on a photo taken in 1982. They tried to convince me it has to be him as he looks exactly as the actor who played him in the movie. It was Bill Reid btw. |
