Hi all,
Quick question.
I have the following on Hollywood Records vinyl:
Queen, Queen II, Sheer Heart Attack, A Night At The Opera, A Day At The Races, News Of The World, Flash Gordon, A Kind Of Magic, Innuendo
I believe these were released around 2008 and released in batches.
Does anyone know if the remaining albums were ever released via Hollywood Records:
Jazz, Hot Space, The Game, The Works, The Miracle, Made In Heaven
I’ve looked online and I’m a bit confused as many show them released under Universal or Virgin Import, but I wanted to finish off the Hollywood Records reissue set - if they were ever completed.
Thanks!
Nope, Hollywood never got the last batch of 2009 vinyl. Jazz was released by Hollywood last month. Apparently The Game was to be re-released last month too but I haven’t seen it.
Following on from this: which is higher quality, the 2015 Vinyls or the 2008/9 Vinyls? There are probably numerous threads about this on here already...

Indeed:
Jazz was released November 9 (050087400279 / D002946101)
The Game was released December 21 (050087400286 / D002946201)
Do we know why Jazz and The Game have had 2018 releases? I’ve gone ahead and ordered Jazz.
Thanks everyone for the info. I had kept all the 2008/09 releases sealed and I think I’ll keep them that way. I’m now going to start collecting the 2015 remasters for listening purposes.
No clue why Hollywood wanted those two specifically. They are a different pressing than the 2015 release. They carry Hollywood labels and jackets.
The thinking may have been... The Game is their only #1 album in the territory and Jazz is an anniversary album?
One last question on this.
For the 2015 re-issues, I’ve seen some sites and EBay list Hollywood/Disney as the distributors while others are Virgin/EMI.
Are there releases from Hollywood specifically or are the ones from Hollywood just Imported Virgin/EMI labelled LPs?
The reason I ask - is now that I want to start buying them and I live in Canada, can I buy both versions and will they be the same?
Thanks!
Are there any issues with the 2008 pressings? I picked up Flash Gordon a few weeks ago and it originally wouldn’t fit on the spindle so it sounded warped. I fixed that issue tonight, but the mix sounds off, almost like there’s no bass. Could it be my headphones or player? I’m using one of those Victrola 6-in-1 players and $1 headphones.
Just a quick question
Is there any difference between vinyl pressings? For example.
How do the original pressing of QII stack up when it came out in 74 compared with later pressings or is it more of a selling/collectors thing, to say that you have the original pressing??

For starters the '74 pressing is the original mix & master. The sound is different than remasters.
