I've seen this posted a lot, I dunno how much stock I put into it to be honest. I'm not sure if it's something that can really be determined statistically. Yes, Lennon might've had a tendency to write melodies in a more stepwise fashion, but that doesn't amount to proof that a melody with leaps must have been McCartney's. After all there are other exceptions to the rule - McCartney's Drive My Car on the same album has one of his most static melodies ever, that doesn't mean that it was secretly John's writing.
Definitely by you? If you want to, go for it!
I honestly don't care 'who' does it, I just hope it gets done. I certainly lack the mathematical and statistical expertise to even attempt something like that at this point, but if I ever manage to have developed the necessary skills, sure, I'll give it a go - and the result will likely have loads of mistakes, which hopefully will get corrected while some people nicely point them out (and some imbeciles just moan and claim 'who the fuck is gonna read that?' or some rubbish like that).
There's a far bigger chance that, in the meantime, someone else will do it instead, and that's absolutely alright. I had nothing to do with QueenLive, QueenConcerts, UltimateQueen, Queenpedia, QueenVaults, Barry's PhD dissertation, Georg's book, Ignacio's upcoming book (which I'm sure will be brilliant), Mark's book, James' YT channel, Marc's YT channel, etc., and I'm glad all of those exist, as they do a marvellous job and, again, I had nothing to do with them.
So much for ego.
