It still amazes me the guys take these queen + AL shows when it comes to rehearsals so easy. Back in the day queen would rehears a full week or two weeks before going on tour. I had expected they took this summer Europe tour to a bit of a new level. Change the setlist and stage with a few new songs etc just to keep them and the fans interested . |

Change the setlist and stage with a few new songs etc just to keep them and the fans interested .This is just another leg of the tour though so I wouldn't imagine they'd need much rehearsal, not like the beginning of a tour when they're starting from scratch. Even if they do any new songs Adam will have rehearsed them himself first so it would only need the harmonies etc rehearsing together. |
Iron Butterfly 05.06.2018 08:37 |
Every artist needs and should rehearse, does Q+AL want to rehearse more... apparently not. Which is a bummer, because to me that's means less of chance of quite a few songs being performed. |
Richard Orchard 05.06.2018 09:42 |
they are playing the same songs they have played for quite a few years now.... probably don't see the need. |
Cruella de Vil 05.06.2018 10:51 |
Maybe it is wishful thinking to consider the fact that we don't really know anything about their rehearsals. For all we know, they may have been rehearsing for some time. But then again, maybe they are going into automatic and playing the standard greatest hits set. We will soon know... |
SweetCaroline 05.06.2018 11:02 |
The NOTW tour has operated like a well oiled machine. I imagine the rehearsals this week were mainly to recalibrate and coordinate the performers and crew who haven’t been together for 3 months since March 6 in Australia. I do hope they bring back It’s Late and Spread Your Wings into the Set List. |
argQ 05.06.2018 15:07 |
We can expect something new according to Brian words: "We're shakin' up the show - a LOT !! I think there will be some shock on some faces !!! Ouch ! Some heavy stuff go in' down ! Ha ha ! Can't wait !!! Bri |
Kuijpy 05.06.2018 15:20 |
Songs they Play: Rock You Champions BoRhap GaGa Crazy Somebody To Love Killer Queen Break Free I Want it all Last Horizon Guitar solo (the same as always) Love of my life Under Pressure ***Selfie Stick*** Bites The dust Mother Down I think Ive got them all good! |
Vali 05.06.2018 15:56 |
yeah, just read Brian's last post on IG: "We're shakin'up the show a LOT !!" As per their standards in recent years, that can mean, being super-optimistic .... dropping 3 songs form the latest setlist and adding 3 ? Two of which will probably be It's Late and Spread Your Wings? If the additions last until the concert in Barcelona next sunday, I'll be satisfied :-) ps: praying to every deity in the universe for them to drop WWRY+Hammer To Fall as the show opener (weakest opener in rock history). |

They did some band rehearsals over the last week in London and are now doing three or four days full production rehearsals in Lisbon. |
SweetCaroline 05.06.2018 19:35 |
I saw the WWRY/Hammer To Fall opening in person and it is spectacular!!!!! |
snifflese 05.06.2018 19:58 |
I enjoyed it when they started with Now I"m Here, which I thought was a good intro for Adam, kind of tongue in cheek and I really prefer that song to Hammer to Fall. I would love to hear Save Me or I Was born to love you as neither would take much practice since they have sung them before. |

It will be the same crap than it has ever been. WIth this annoying tool on vocals they could change 25 songs and it wouldnt make this trainwreck any good |

Hundred's of thousands of people beg to differ with your opinion, runner. Check out ticket master reviews or facebook or some of the individual blog reviews. You are definitely in the minority and are quite the tool yourself to keep repeating the same garbage. |

runner_70 wrote: It will be the same crap than it has ever been. For someone who's supposedly a Queen fan you don't spend much time here except when the band that "no longer exists" is back on tour. |
SweetCaroline 05.06.2018 23:33 |
I liked the Now I’m Here opening, too, but the WWRY/Hammer To Fall opening is perfect for the NOTW robot (aka Frank) breaking down the wall and lifting the “curtain!” I loved it! |
SweetCaroline 06.06.2018 02:11 |
June 5, 2018 tweet from “Steve” ..... “I'm just going to put it out there that there is one big difference between The Voice and American Idol and the reason why the shows are so different: Adam Lambert. There has never been ANYONE in music like Adam Lambert. I maintain The Voice needs its Adam Lambert to be like AI.” |
rockchic65 06.06.2018 05:57 |
I thought the intro with the Wall was amazing and I love Hammer To Fall. That said I did love Now I'm Here as an intro as well. Usual problem, too may great Queen songs, how do you choose what to keep and what to drop. They just need to do four hour shows, problem solved. |
Vali 06.06.2018 09:30 |
In my opinion, Procession+Now I'm Here and Flash+The Hero worked 1000 times better than WWRY+Hammer To Fall. Now, if WWRY was the fast version, that would be another story. |

Vali wrote: In my opinion, Procession+Now I'm Here and Flash+The Hero worked 1000 times better than WWRY+Hammer To Fall. That said it was still a great show. |
Holly2003 06.06.2018 09:57 |
For years Brian has been trying (and failing) to replace BoRap with WWRY as the song the general public most associate with Queen. It's no wonder he wants to play it twice in a setlist. He'll be opening with that badger song next. |
Queenman!! 06.06.2018 11:31 |
Well, refering to the anniversary of Jazz, Let me Entertain you could be a nice one after We will rock you fast as opener. |
Vali 06.06.2018 12:27 |

Holly, at least it's only twice. On the 77 News Of The World Tour it was three times! |

Lets face it, Lambert certainly is a real tool. I'm not negative at all about Q+AL and I have travelled from the UK to see the Lisbon concert, as I have many other destinations in world to see Brian and Roger still playing live... but its despite Lambert, not because of him. |

I like WWRY fast version but I do NOT think it fits the opening in this show because after he breaks the wall and lifts it up to the ceiling, Frank the robot is seen looking from side to side at the audience and it is a slow motion, not a fast one. The regular beat fits this better IMO. |

Adam is NOT a tool. He is an entertainer! He is humble and gracious and doesn’t have an arrogant bone in his body. The Queen guys have enjoyed performing with him for 6-1/2 years because he is fun with a great sense of humor. |

They got tired of It's Late. They are just having fun playing their never-ending old stuff tour. No new songs, no new records, not a lot of set-list surprises... OK. They dont want to be creative songwriters anymore and they love it that way!!! Freddie would still be writing and singing new stuff. What would he think of their old pals having a new good singer but doing the same old stuff with him for almost a decade? |

"If Freddie were still alive, I doubt there would be any need or wanting by Brian and Roger having AL to sing the Queen songs. " Right. If Freddie was alive, there would not be place for Adam, but I mean, what if Freddie could just watch (from the other world) what his friends are doing with the new singer? They have found a good singer, right. But Freddie would possibly find sad the fact his friends are only playing the stuff they did all together so long ago. Can a band be a real band playing only what they did long time ago for the rest of their lives? |

Adam's got Spread Your Wings and It's Late on his playlist as well as Cool Cat and Tear it Up so maybe we might see some new additions, or it could just be he likes those songs, but you never know. |

SC you still buy this crappy "Freddie would have loved it" bullcrap???? This annoying promo talk crap to sell some tickets to Freddie fans? Stupid. Freddie would love it as muich as Paul Rodgers was his favourite singer (same crap they said in 2005 to promote the QPR tour). With the difference that PR was a respected singer not an annoying wannabe with a voice like a raped goat. |

Yep, Brian and Roger have said that Freddie would have really loved Adam! I have a feeling they would have gotten along. Adam is friendly and Freddie seemed like a good guy also. I would be surprised to see that they didn't like each other. I guess we will never know. |
