Weve had Dvd releases and lame greatest hits Cds etc........ What could possibly be next for the Queen cash cow? At least they could put some love into the product and give us decent art work and a decent Dvd or Cd. |
cmsdrums 11.04.2018 16:40 |
Possibly the soundtrack to, and Blu Ray of, the movie. You can guarantee another GH/Best Of to come around the same time too. |
RS_Protos 11.04.2018 16:51 |
Greatest Hits In Different Track Order.................................... I doubt we'll get anything worth while this year because of the movie release. |
OhioMustapha 11.04.2018 17:08 |
Definitely an official release of Queen live in Vienna. I put my money on that. not really |
Pim Derks 11.04.2018 17:14 |
"Bohemian Rhapsody: The Best Of Freddie Mercury and Queen". Can't wait. |

Well i do not hold Queen productions in high regard after the last lot of rubbish that was released. Queen Forever, Absolute Queen, pointless Cds. |
Kuijpy 11.04.2018 17:58 |
I hope Greatest Hits 2020 remaster.. Wembley in 4d resolution in the cinema's And an photobook from Queen, with images from 1970/86 and then from 1992/2018. |
Star* 11.04.2018 19:19 |
kuiijpy : i hope none of your choices come true. Greatest Hits was remastered in 2011 i think. We need something different, like rarities archives and un released product and not go around in circles like Queen productions do. |
Queenman!! 11.04.2018 20:43 |
I hope a new Greatest Flix compilation scanned in HD with alternative shots, like the Barcelona video with as bonus "a making of" |
Ivo-1976 11.04.2018 21:40 |
2018: Queen+AL Live album, perhaps even a studio album (has to happen at some point, not sure if it will be any good) 2019: Miracle 30th anniversary pack. Could be interesting because of all the recordings made in '88, some still unreleased. And more "making of" video recordings. They recorded 5 videoclips in 1989. I would like that. |

I know it's been two years since the 40th Anniversary of Hyde Park 1976, but I still do hope they official release that gig. Worth putting my money into. |

Queen + Lambert greatest hits |
pittrek 12.04.2018 07:01 |
Nothing important happened in 1978. Unless they plan to release a special 42nd anniversary edition of Hyde Park. But maybe we get a special edition of Jazz? |
Martin Packer 12.04.2018 08:07 |
On the "Q+AL studio album in 2018" point we would expect to see some activity by now... |

Queen + Paul Rodgers: Paul sings your favorite Queen songs! Disclaimer: no actual Queen members play in this album. |
Star* 12.04.2018 11:16 |
Lets hope the Queen + Adam Lambprick album never happens, that would be a car crash no what we need is REAL Queen product not spinal tap on Cd. |
vince73 12.04.2018 20:52 |
Queen Rock Montreal in UHD Bluray is something will eventually happen. I think they should record a covers album with Adam Lambert playing classics like Life on Mars?, Communication Breakdown or the Abbey Road suite instead of writing new songs. |
steindl 12.04.2018 21:16 |
Hyde Park '76 would be the best, but I think only a big dream |
Jimmy Dean 13.04.2018 03:54 |
News of The World - 41st Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition In all seriousness - i really hope they do Greatest Flix I, II and III on blu ray - or better yet in 4K HDR with Dolby Atmos or DTS X. |
Golden Salmon 13.04.2018 11:09 |
By the way, any word on that Brian May box set? If this is a slow year, perhaps it could be the right time to release it. |

I'm still waiting for the remasters of "Mr Bad Guy" and "Barcelona" which were done for release in 2016, but we got "Messenger Of The Gods" instead :( |
mike hunt 13.04.2018 13:50 |
Mr.Bad Guy doesn't need a new remaster....It's bloody brilliant the way it is....lol....Barcelona would be nice, one of my all time favorites. A remaster with a deluxe version. |
Star* 13.04.2018 17:56 |
To be honest we do not want anything remastered at all, we NEW things to crow over. i am tired of remasters and compilation albums, surely there must be more unheard stuff in the archives and Brian and Rogers personal collections ? They owe it to us and it is badly overdue. |
Star* 13.04.2018 18:00 |
Vince: i think Queen should NEVER record with Lambprick. Touring is one thing to make fools out of them but recordings last a lifetime. ! |
mooghead 13.04.2018 18:43 |
Fuck remastering. Only pretentious idiots claim to hear a difference. The best versions are always the first editions. Remastering = LOUDNESS WAR!!! For the new generation who listen to music through headphones on their way to work.... |
Chief Mouse 13.04.2018 19:31 |
^ earphones. |
matt z 14.04.2018 07:39 |
Nope. Not only pretentious pricks. There's always a difference. While i find it interesting that many people here have been able to isolate remaster sources per reach compilation, a typical album mastered in the 80's will definitely sound different with a modern take. Sometimes sounds ARE raised and compressed, but they also tend to be frequency isolated and placed in a very particular spatial environment. I've heard both good and bad, ....bad being Depeche Mode's SONGS OF FAITH AND DEVOTION (5.1 DVD mix) : it sounded nearly the same even with spatial workings of the added channels. Still, depending on moods and equipment ambient noise and attention you can realize that some sonic things are relative to your frame of mind Some 80's albums in the new age of DDD encoding were notoriously bad. Prince's early 80's output sounded flat, (except Dirty Mind) but warm and big on vinyl. Some albums were mastered for Dolby and include warm white noise flub that some people can't hear. Remasters tend and TREND towards isolating certain instrumentation and bumping it to an isolated relative frequency. This prevents it from stepping over others, and notably - the New SGT PEPPER mixes created false separate isolated values for instrument via modern sound manipulation. Instead of being bound together, they tend to taper them to relative frequencies (at least this is what i hear) which creates discernment without clutter. BUT they DO tend to elevate the amplitude and shelve frequencies. Go with your research and selections. Hell, there were times i was grateful just to HEAR some songs that were damn near impossible to find (but mentioned in books) growing up in the 90's. BTW: anybody have an HD version of THE BIGGLES : NO TURNING BACK |
Dr Magus 15.04.2018 11:28 |
I'd like to see another Wembley 86 release but with Adam Lambert on the cover. I'm just sick of seeing Freddie on all the covers. Come on QPL sort it out. |

I would hope for a 4K UHD HDR release of Budapest and/or Montreal These are the only concerts that would benefit such a release assuming they had the forward thinking of scanning and archiving the masters to 4K way back when. Hopefully they would do a better version of Montreal this time! I recently contacted Eagle Rock about this as they would probably understand more than QP bty have not yet had a reply. AFAIK, there has yet to be a music concert release on 4K UHD so this could be a 'world first' ! |
KevoM 16.04.2018 18:12 |
"In all seriousness - i really hope they do Greatest Flix I, II and III on blu ray - or better yet in 4K HDR with Dolby Atmos or DTS X." POINTLESS releasing anything made in SD video to 4k HDR. They go away with it (JUST) doing Rainbow and Hammy 75 in HD/BD but it was mere;y upscaled SD. I would rather they released the the original flix 1, 2 and 3 in HD Blu ray and if possible and if available re-scan and restore any original film elements (for those that were shot on film) to HD and in OAR of course. Dolby Atmos may be beneficial but it lends itself more to feature films than music promos/concerts. I could be wrong! |

I’d love a few more albums (Queen II, ADATR, Jazz and The Miracle particularly) in proper 5.1 surround releases, but instead I think that ship has sailed and Brian has lost interest in that. |

Dr Magnus : You are off your head wanting Adam Lambert on the front cover of Wembley 86. Freddie is on the front cover for a reason, because Queen was his invention and he as worked damn hard to get the band popular over the years. Freddie was / is the spirit of Queen forever. Adam Lambert not worthy at all for any Queen product. Maybe suitable for a Muppets Dvd release though. |

Oh, and Queen wasn't Freddie's invention - at best, it was half his invention (share of songwriting in the early period), in reality either a quarter or a third (founding members). |

thomasquinn 32989, re: >Oh, and Queen wasn't Freddie's invention - at best, it was half his invention We cut to a bloke called Bulsara with some dodgy teeth and a slightly effeminate gait, gambolling down Kensington High Street in 1970, who, suddenly, stops in his tracks. He taps a random passer by on the shoulder: "I've had this brilliant, nay, GENIUS half of an idea to give the following name to a new band that I'd like some of my acquaintances, who are in a band called Smile to be in with me. It shall be called Queen." "Are you sure that's not a complete idea; you sound pretty sure?" "No - only half an idea - I'm not sure it'll sell or whether they will take it on." That same chap called Bulsara is next seen perched on top of an amplifier, addressing 3 musicians. "OK - I have half an idea that our band should be called Queen." "Yes - I think we should call it Queen" they all say in unison. A short time later, having assumed lead singer duties in the band he only half named, Bulsara walks into the room that Queen are due to begin rehearsing in: "What's that in your hand?" "A piece of paper with half an idea for a logo that our band that I only half thought should be called Queen could use." "It's brilliant, looks like you've used all of our star signs to create it........." "I have, indeed, yes." "Let's use that." So, there we have a bloke that came up with the name, the logo and persuaded three members of a band called Smile to begin a new band. Can't see how ANYONE would attribute it's creation to Frederick Bulsara at all......... |
Holly2003 17.04.2018 17:05 |
lol! And I'll bet it wasn't Fred who suggested they name the band Build Your Own Boat. |
The Real Wizard 18.04.2018 04:41 |
Of course, conceptually Queen was largely Freddie's creation. The name, the logo, their look, and their stage presentation - all his. But their sound mostly came from Brian and Roger at first. Listen to the Smile material from 1969, and then listen to Freddie's material with Ibex. The former was basically the Queen sound, and the latter was pretty awful. Whatever was in Mercury, it took the others to bring it out of him. A true collaboration it was. |
Star* 18.04.2018 16:36 |
There is a lot of sarcastic people on here, making fun of Freddies teeth and camp gentle nature, yet they are supposed to be the fans? Mr May & Taylor would not have been so massive if Freddie had not got involved and changed vital things, like the bands name, what direction they had to go in and what style of music they should do. Freddie was a real wizard of music he had the other threes destiny mapped out right from the start. We don't call him king Mercury for nothing you know! |
Vocal harmony 19.04.2018 14:01 |
Yes and you could very easily make the claim that had Freddie not met Rogrt and Brian he'd still be a market trader. . . I've made the same point to you before with regard to Smile and Brian. And Rogers influence over what Freddie had to offer on the early albums, i seem to recall you dismissed that view than and went on to claim that Queen was all Freddie. . . . It wasn't. |
MisterCosmicc 19.04.2018 16:02 |
The Call is having a new single release with a cover Adam Lambert + Queen tracks thrown in for good measure. A new music video for The Call, hopefully. I’d like to see a dance routine ! |
Star* 19.04.2018 18:46 |
VH : Freddie had more ambition and drive than anybody in Queen and he was determined to be a legend not a rock star and even if he never got met Brian & Roger he would still have become a legend in some other band. He was mega talented , he was defiant that he had to have fame. By the way Queen was all Freddie, the whole project of Queen was saturated with Freddies stamp marks from start to finish. Queen crest, Queen the name, and Queens most successful singles in the 70s were Freddie's songs and it was not until the 80s that other band members started having hits. |
