MercurialFreddie 09.11.2017 17:47 |
"Freddy" ? Do you know whose hits and voice made this band world-wide famous and recognizable ? His name was Freddie. Sure, Adam can hit high notes but his voice and stage presence don't have the masculinity which so well characterized Freddie's. |
Kuijpy 09.11.2017 18:39 |
Sorrry, I was sarcastic ;) I have 250 LP's and 400 cd's ;) I know who Freddie is |
SweetCaroline 09.11.2017 19:03 |
Masculinity? Adam has yet to prance around the stage in a onesie and ballet slippers! I still love Freddie even though he did those things! |
MercurialFreddie 09.11.2017 19:36 |
Onesie and ballet slippers if I'm right appeared only in 1976-1978 but since 1977 leather, hat, glasses and much much later, the Castro Clone inspiration became more important for Freddie. |

It wasn't just the leotards, but the leather look of the late 70's ( like Rob Halford and the Village People guy) echoed what was going on in some of the gay club scene in New York, Berlin and Munich. The white outfit's that followed just echoed that trend still further. AL, it could be argued is just following an entertainment tradition! |
SweetCaroline 09.11.2017 20:52 |
Adam has fans who would LOVE to see him bare his chest on stage like Freddie used to do (although Adam is not as hairey) but Adam is too modest to do that or maybe too many ladies would be fainting (just kidding). |
SweetCaroline 09.11.2017 20:56 |

I could do without AL showing his chest, especially while singing Queen songs. Just no. |
Iron Butterfly 09.11.2017 21:39 |
I don't think AL is modest at all, actually. |
princetom 09.11.2017 21:58 |
AL is perfect singing ... or interpreting ... the queen catalogue as BM and RT wish it to be.... secure... most easy to play... because they have done a hundreds of times... but what about a "tenement funster" (like they did with the foo's drummer ?) ... what about a "ride the wild wind" as done by RT on his solo tours... what about a headlong (by brian on his solo efforts) ... what about a REALLY effectful "WWRY" dond by RT in '98 ? two drums... enhancing it... ? maybe combined with the "hard" version". same old... same old... now. my point is... they have a most talented vocalist... they have proven to enhance their repertoire by arranging it to the stage... WHY not DOING IT right now ? it my or shall be they're last tour (before their LAST tour of course)... WHY ... ALWAYS "same old, same old" ? why not sticking into SYW and IL... until it sounds perfect ... why not presenting a "sleeping on the sidewalk" ? it istn't THAT hard to play, is it ? why NOT a "miracle" or "innuendo" ? Al would be surely able to sing those songs. but their (imho. ... false...) intension is to give people what they long for. NOT an intension freddie would have liked. IS IT. ? correct me if i stand wrong. |
Kuijpy 09.11.2017 21:58 |
Very scary fan taht Sweet Caroline, when i was Adam i will call the police or security |
SweetCaroline 09.11.2017 22:14 |
Adam sings anything, bring it on! |
Iron Butterfly 09.11.2017 22:37 |
There's so much to be desired in this tour. If it's the last tour, surely more songs would be added? So little effort it seems. |
SweetCaroline 10.11.2017 00:51 |
Yes, they should sing different songs at every new venue they go to. It certainly doesn’t matter that their crack sound, lighting, stage crew have it down to a precise and perfect science how the show is run so that it fits in a certain timeframe! Just throw that away and do something different so the morons on a website can be satisfied! |
Iron Butterfly 10.11.2017 01:30 |
For me, sweetcaroline, it's the MUSIC that matters MORE than any light show, effect. Don't call people on a website morons when YOU couldn't admit or even realize when AL messed up Bohemian Rhapsody. |
Cruella de Vil 10.11.2017 01:54 |
Ok Kuipy, Infantile ramblings such as: "PLEASEEEE BRIAN, READ MY MESSAGE!! ADAM I WANT TO KISS YOUR ASS PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE." are bad enough. Don't for one minute think Brian would venture onto Queenzone. Maybe you should look to the Brittany Spears fan club instead as a model of effective inter-fan communication. |
SweetCaroline 10.11.2017 02:23 |
I have listened to every available audio stream and watched every available periscope of this fabulous show and never once been bored! The six guys putting on this show and their crew are magnificent and professional in every way and should be appreciated and not criticized! Shame on the people who think THEY are the experts! |
Iron Butterfly 10.11.2017 02:32 |
Seems like once again, sweetcaroline, you want and need nothing but praise only and you can't handle other pov's. |

There are bands out there that do that, that has never been something Queen have done. But what they could do is drop a good third of what they play and replace it with little played or never played songs. What about NOTW, the album the tour is meant to be based on. Opening chorus and the encore, songs that are always played, then one song not played in its entirety, really taking chances, being dangerous and playing to the fan base! The first US tour with AL was in many ways more exciting than what we're getting now, as it re introduced some old songs that hadn't been played since the 80's or before and even a song that had never been played. I'm a huge fan, but I have no trouble in admitting disappointment in the setlist after they promised so much. As for your comment about sound, lighting stage crew. You have no idea what your talking about. Yes there are set pieces in the show, but a good sound or lighting guy could and often does have to work on the fly and get it right. They could easily add a new song tonight and the crew could easily cope |
SweetCaroline 10.11.2017 13:27 |
Yes, but to cover the extensive Queen catalogue and all of the songs that fans want to hear, they would need a different set list for each venue which is impossible. I saw them in Ohio on July 21st and I thought I would be upset if they didn’t include IL and SYW from the NOTW album but I wasn’t because what they did do was so FABULOUS that you are left in awe of their incredible talent and expertise! Icy, et al can bitch and bitch and bitch until the cows come home but if they were physically there, they would agree about how wonderful this show is no matter what songs they perform! You get caught up in the experience and atmosphere and it is magically overwhelming! |

SweetCaroline 10.11.2017 17:21 |
LOTV, I’ve heard these songs plenty of times and am looking forward to hearing them for the rest of this tour. As I posted previously, I have listened to the audios and periscopes and watched the videos for all of the QAL shows they have performed the past 5 shows so I have heard them perform Now I’m Here, Days Of Our Lives, 39, A Kind Of Magic, Dragon Attack, The Show Must Go On, Save Me, In The Lap Of The Gods, The Seven Seas Of Rhye, I Was Born To Love You, and It’s Late and Spread Your Wings. They cannot humanly incorporate all of those songs in one show to satisfy everyone so they have to make a choice as to what works best for them. How wonderful it is that they have such a varied repertoire to choose from! And, yes, there are many more that have not been done with this collaboration. I guess they will just have to live forever !!!!! |

I wouldn't mind the gutiar solo, drum battle and the AL solo song being dropped. Surely then, there would be time to add a couple of Queen songs. |

Bullet with Butterfly Wings wrote: I wouldn't mind the gutiar solo, drum battle and the AL solo song being dropped. Surely then, there would be time to add a couple of Queen songs. The guitar solo, in some form, has always been a feature of the Queen show. Solos are a feature of rock shows. Its less of a problem than the band trudging through IWTBF when there are far better songs. They could keep the feature songs, Bo rhap, WWRY, WATC and 10 others and completely re structure the rest of the set list with stuff they haven't played before. But they won't and that's what makes the shows predictable and boring to some |
SweetCaroline 11.11.2017 17:10 |
But the audiences love them no matter what they do and that’s what I have tried to get across to the Queen fans who have never seen this collaboration in person! There’s a great chemistry! Some Adam haters at the QOL forum brag that they have never even watched a video but still can’t stand him. |

I like a lot of people I'm a very long term Queen fan. I saw them in the 70's, 80's and with Paul Rodgers and the current lineup. Having seen them so many times including AL, like a lot of Queen fans I think a different setlist would have been really good with the current production. I'm very aware how good the shows are but im also very aware how much better it could be. |
