Hi there...
According to Queenpedia,"The Miracle" was recorded from january 1988 to february 1989. If that is the case, then MAYBE that song was one of the last finalized tracks ( vocal-wise) on the album.
"We went to bali, saw God and Dali"
Salvador Dali died on 23 january 1989 - just a coincidence ?
Any thoughts ?
He'd been ill for a while, so they knew it was coming sooner or later. Fred had been in Catalonia a lot in those years, so maybe there was some sort of pop-cultural osmosis involved as well.
Most likely they just went for something to rhyme with Bali, and then realised they could add the 'surrealistic' bit as well.
Very little is known about their relation or if they actually met but I wouldn't be surprised... Freddie admired Dali's art, that's for sure.
If Phoebe is coming back with his Q&A we can ask also those lucky ones who are going to the FM Birthday party... there will also be plenty of opportunities to get this information.
It think its about Queens journey. When John went off to Bali and shit was just bad during The Munich era and The Dali part is like The others explained

.
Dali had Parkinson disease at that point and a few other incidents.
If there was a meeting, then maybe in relation with the "Barcelona" project.
Anyway meeting Dali sounds overblown and rich enough for Lord Lucan, So this might be true :)
Both Brian and David Richards confirmed the song as chiefly Freddie's, but with some input by the others - particularly Roger - on the lyrics.
I'd say, statistically, chances of that line being Frederick's or Roger's are roughly higher than it being John's or Brian's.
Hi Seb,
Yes, without further proof, we could statistically infer that, but in this case, Brian contributed the Dali and Bali lines, and Freddie the mystic and surrealistic ones.
It seems Brian also contributed several ideas to this song.
