Hey Guys,
Been Listening to the live content of last year's Queen On Air release. As many have said here, it's too bad they opted to just release snippets instead of the full concerts. I wanted to see what people's thoughts were on if any of the versions released On Air are better than what we already have on bootlegs. I have some impressions but wanted to see what the audio experts thought, as I'm far from one.
Golders Green 73- Seems to be about the same if not slightly better than the best bootlegs available.
São Paulo 81- Seems to be slightly better than at least the bootlegs I've heard.
Mannheim 86- Seems to be about the same except not as much hiss as the best bootlegs.
Thanks!
Queen On Air was a bust imo...
didn't even chart in the US...
UK one Week at 25
Germany 1 Week at 28
No gold or platin awards as far as I know.
Just one of their catalouge releases.
It was a mess of a set, but I'm don't think it did worse saleswise than anyone thought. 6 discs? Wake up Universal. But then the guy I heard being interviewed about Queen on the podcast did sound thick as pigshit. Fits right in with the idiots they've surrounded themselves with.
