Finally(after a few Vodkas) watched that Freddie thing on Channel 5.The guy that played Freddie was scarily like him in some ways, the others were hilarious! Roger as some twat,Brian with a massive mop on his head, and John constantly swigging from a beer bottle! No wonder the Dr wants it forgotten forever,it gave the impression that Freddie was easily the most important person in Queen....................
Yes it is. The "documentary" gave a wider understanding of the situation Queen found themselves in during the mega-successful years, and the influence of certain people around them
It's a shame that Phoebe's role in his life was so overlooked
The guy playing Freddie (especially in the 80s) had the look and voice just about perfect, hats off to him!
It will be interesting to see the official story if it ever comes out
And, to be fair to the filmmakers, most of what was depicted was actually the truth, like it or not
If I were a member of Queen, it would bother me that for 90 minutes the filmmakers thought that the only things worth showing the audience were - Freddie looking very uncomfortable while kissing men (?), Freddie telling people that he's dying from "the AIDS!", and the other three members of the band looking and talking like a bunch of simpering morons.
But I'm not a member of Queen, so. Far be it for me to want a documentary about a musician to actually be about that man's achievements in that area.

It DID bother them.
I understand they politely asked the film makers NOT to make it.
They refused.
As I'm sure I've written in some other thread, it was absolutely atrocious. The guy playing Freddie made an effort to sound like him though, so that bit was ok. He could have done without the infinite amounts of "darling" this and "darling" that, though.
I think the whole thing was disrespectful to Freddie.
